ckibue, thanks for the confirmation, (so the pin/connector inside the ecu that goes from the ecu board to the wiring harness is actually cut and then a jumper is but btween them, correct?, that is what i remember seeing, but I wasn't sure if i remembered correctly)
So, do you actually have the ECU ? and the original Grp_N rom on it?

There were a couple people awhile back who were putting the black coil packs "to the test" with the higher ign dwell maps. I was curious what you found. Did you follow through? Did they burn up? Did they last, or did you end up cutting back the values?

Hi,
I'm relatively new to tuning but would like to get to know more about Speed Density tuning. I've also got experience in assembly and PIC programming so may be able to help with contributing to future developments.
I've got an EDM Bugeye WRX (A4SE900D ROM) and the only mods are a full de-cat and panel filter. Is it safe to put this ROM onto my ECU as it is, take some logs then make changes, or will this damage the car? I was thinking about lowering the rev limit to 7000, Zeroing WGDC and going from there...?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Ben

Ben Search for a thread "new definitions released launch control", it is a large thread that some of us worked on ironing out this rom and the problems of running it on a non group n car. Read the whole thread and it will answer most of your questions. Search my post and you will find the thread. If you have any further questions then feel free to ask.
