This EcuFlash def is based on the RR def above. Let me know of any issues.
Store the file in directory: \Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\subaru\Impreza STi

Updated EcuFlash 32BITBASE def is needed for the above def.
Store the file in directory: \Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\subaru\Bases

Both defs contain experimental Ignition Dwell, Fuel Pump Duty Cycle, Per Gear timing compensation control and Per Gear Max Requested Torque tables.

The RomRaider Logger def for this ROM can be found in this post.
Use minimum logger.xml version 19.

Hi Dale, once again I thank you for taking time out to create definitions for this ROM.

However, I do need your help... I am able to download my ROM using ECUFLASH. But I cannot edit or view any tables using ECUFLASH. ROMRAIDER works just fine.
I am worried that I may not be able to flash my edited ROM back to my ECU using ECUFLASH.

I have updated my 32 Bit Base in ECUFLASH as per your previous instructions.

Also, I am using ECUFLASH version 1.43.3150.

Thanks.

I tried it with that version of EcuFlash and the ROM opens.
With EcuFlash shutdown.
Confirm, 32BITBASE is in \Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\subaru\Bases
and AZ1J500J.xml is in \Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\subaru\Impreza STi

Restart EcuFlash and it will re-read the rommetadata and all sub-directories.

What error does EcuFlash give you?

Hi Dale,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I checked everything as per your post above and still had no luck... ECUFLASH gave no error messages, but refused to open up tables.

I then had a moment of genius (happens very rarely  ) - I ran ECUFLASH as Administrator - and bham, everything is working A OK!

Thank you Sir. God Bless.

Updated to version 3 to include Per Gear Max Requested Torque tables A & B.

Hi Dale,

Can you please assist in defining 'Gear Determination Thresholds' table for this Rom?

Would it be possible to edit the Per Gear Max Requested Tables format, so that is showed info for all 5 gears? If not, how best can I utilise this table to maximise boost in lower gears without over boosting in higher gears?

Once again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving your time and sharing your knowledge so generously.

What you see is what is programmed in the ROM.

At a specific RPM, if you are in gear 1 then you will pull a value from the first row.
If you are in gear 2, 3 or 4 the value will be a percentage of the difference between the first and second row values, added to the first row value (the same is true if the RPM is between two cells).
I think 2 = 25%, 3 = 50% and 4 = 75% of the difference between the two rows.
If you are in 5 or 6 the value from those rows will be used.

Since you have an AT, the tranny should tell the ECU what gear it is in.

Thank you for your prompt reply Dale.

Can you please assist me with further clarification on these tables?

If I were to change the 'Gear' values in the 'Per Gear Max Requested Torque Tables', to the following -

First row - change the 1 to a 2
Second row - change the 5 to a 3
Third row - change the 6 to a 5

would that mean that the ecu will use the First row to determine maximum requested torque for 1st and 2nd gear, the Second row for 3rd gear, and the Third row for 4th and 5th gears?

Is it possible to define the 'Gear Determination Thresholds' for this Rom, so that I can get the Ecu to see 1st and 2nd gear as one gear? I intend to use the 1st gear boost compensation tables to help increase boost in the first two gears.

Thanking you - MadVally.

With that setup the ECU will pull:
Gear 1 & 2 from the first row
Gear 3 from the second row
Gear 4, 50% of the difference between the second and third row added the the second row value
Gear 5 & 6 from the third row

I'm pretty sure that the gear determination thresholds are ignored with the AT. Why not log Gear position to see what you get and if it is correct?

Thanks for clearing that up for me :D

I shall log Gear Position over the weekend and keep you posted.

Cheers.

Hi Dale, I was taking a look at my stock Rom this evening and discovered something strange...

In the 1.00 column of my Target Throttle Plate Position Maps (all three tables), I found the following -

100% in all rows from 800rpm up until 2400rpm
between 42% & 30% in rows from 2800rpm up until 5200rpm
100% in all rows from 6000rpm up until 6800rpm.

Is there any good reason for this, seeing that the stock Rom of the 2011 6MT STi has 100% in the 1.00 column in all rows from 800rpm up to 6800rpm?

Does this mean my throttle is not opening completely at wot from 2800rpm until 5200rpm?

What would be the outcome if I changed all rows in the 1.00 column of all three tables to 100%?

Thank you for sharing

I'm not sure. But you are comparing apples (MT) to oranges (AT). They are treated differently by the ROM so that could be the reason. You'd really need to ask a tuner about that (which I am not).

Hi dschultz

Thank you again for your hard work!
Just wanted to find out if you'd have a 32BITBASE def file that would allow maps to be viewed in metric format...?
