Has anyone here purchased the immobilizer, key, and ecu to an sti and successfully installed it into a forester xt or other subaru?

I am assuming there is a wiring harness that needs to be purchased with the ecu, key, and immobilizer to make it work??

I am thinking of converting my 05 baja to an 05 sti ecu with immobilizer.

Thoughts??

So no one on here has done this yet?? Seems strange to me that no one has tried this yet to add additional security to non STI models.

I think you might need some more parts. Key antenna may require a new ignition switch and you might need the BIU. Only way to tell is to dig through the oem wiring manuals.

Usually people try to remove that junk Many swap 04 usdm STi hardware when doing swaps.

I've played around with the idea of a software interlocker integrated into MerpMod. Basically, the user specifies an input sequence to pedals/cruise control that are required to start the car. It would have to be integrated into valet mode though, which has also been on my time-starved todo list.

The kit I am looking at comes with key, ignition, ecu, immobilizer but I bet there is a wiring harness I would be missing.

Oh that sounds like a fun one. I'd give that task a whirl if I had time anymore.

Still hoping that someone has already done this. If not I will be the guinea pig.

iv swaped ecu imoblizer ic to new doner ecu on 06 lgt u may be able to do it if ecu hardwhere is same
