Hi dschultz,
I think there is a big need, to reset the oil dilution ratio, after an inspection on Subaru Boxer Diesel Euro 4 Models.
Is it possible to implement this feature, in one of the next releases of Romraider?
Thank you for your reply!

Yes, this would be great Maybe, there is also a possibility to implement the feature "Distance since last Regeneration" (EURO 5) and some other Features

If I recall correctly to reset that parameter requires the use of a factory service routine which means the program has to first pass a security challenge. To add this to RR requires knowledge of how to exchange and derive the security response. It may take a while to get this sorted out...

Dale,
I sniffed a oil dilutation reset of a E5 Diesel via CAN.
If the security code of the E5 is the same, or just simular to the k-Line request, I can send you that sniff to take a look to and copy the comans.
On bench, the dilutation will be reseted, if I just replay the sniffed IDs of the tester
Jochen

Hi guys, are there any news about the dilution reset? I checked the release notes but haven't seen a related comment.
I found C-style pseudo code on the Subaru Diesel Crew site but I can't gauge whether the addresses and setting values menioned are correct.
Thanks!

It seems long-time-seems-to-be-death Subaru Diesel Crew gets alive again and got an new post on his side concering the oil diluttion reset : Oil Dilution Reset (K-Line, Euro4)Dale, are this infos enough to implementate the reset into RomRaider software ? I missed the security code in his description and ask for that. Maybe you can also try and get in contact with him. I´ll try to, but do not expact any suggess Jochen

Another new hint form subaru diesel crew: subdiesel never need any security access to reset the oil dilution on his E4 diesel. The few lines he posted on the diesel block are enough. Maybe we can try to implementate and test on RomRaider logger ?!

Can you try this procedure with the RR Editor > Tools > Test App ? - Do Init to confirm ECU K-line connection
- Uncheck 'Block Read'
- Read the address 00027D, 1 byte long
- Write the byte data back but with bit 6 set (do not change any other bits)
- Read the address, 1 byte long
- Write the byte data back but with bit 6 clear (do not change any other bits)
- Read the address, 1 byte long and confirm bit 6 remains clear
- Ignition off for 20 seconds
- Turn ignition on and check diesel oil parameters are reset.
It will be easier to implement this without secure access, but I'm not going to be able to get to it for a few months.

Mhh doesn´t seems to work, but I am not sure, if I unterstand correct: Code: SND [Init]: 8010F001BF40 RCV [Init]: 80F01069FFA210146644D8760743B8C1060802000000000026CA40FCB00000030000000000 00CC00005D1F20807020000013FB00F5E98600000001E10080EBE500FFFF00FF00000000F8 F8FF00FFFFFF00F00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000004D DATA [Raw]: A210146644D8760743B8C1060802000000000026CA40FCB0000003000000000000CC00005 D1F20807020000013FB00F5E98600000001E10080EBE500FFFF00FF00000000F8F8FF00FFF FFF00F0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Maybe it is, because my on bench ECU was allready reseted, but on the other side I expact the chance of bit 6 (starts with bit count 0 or 1 ? from frist or from last bite ? motorola ? ) BR Jochen [edit] Oh, I set the worng bit, but the result seems to be the same: after wirting an other string, it wasn´t stored, as you see

Hello, Looks like the write command is wrong. Should be "0xB8 Write single address" instead of "0xB0 Write memory". http://www.romraider.com/RomRaider/SsmProtocolInteractive online conversion tool for bits: http://www.binaryconvert.com/convert_unsigned_char.htmlLook at bottom portion "Binary". Enter result data byte from read command in the input field to the right of "0x" Click on those squares below which represent the bits you want to toggle. In this case, click 7th from right = 2nd from left = bit# 6. For example, entering 0x12, clicking and therefore adding bit 6 then yields 0x52. The read cmd looks perfect, reporting byte content "00", therefore setting bit 6 means writing 0x40. Bit numbers in software development are from right (least significant) to left (most significant), starting with 0 - not 1. A single byte value therefore has bits 0 to 7: Code: bit# 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 bitmask hex 80 40 20 10 8 4 2 1 bitmask dec 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1

Try to un-check the 'Block Read' checkbox. Also, only send back 1 byte, not all the bytes you read in the read command. This is not correct: Code: SND [Write]: 8010F00BB000027D80F01002E8006A8E
