I spent Saturday writing a Perl script to convert ECUdefs to RomRaider defs. I wrote it based on a simple def that, besides the ECUid stuff, only included tables having names, address, and elements. FWIW, it has worked perfectly when converting such simple defs.
Before I keep working on the script, I figured I should probably ask ya'll if its worth my time. In other words, am I wasting my time (because, e.g., I've overlooked a tool that already does that, etc.)?
Thanks.

Definitely worthwhile, I would certainly find it useful!

Cool - I'll keep working on it. It will feel good to contribute.

I have a ecuFlash def for EZ1G702H but no RR def. I haven't worked on it since last November. I'll get back on it soon.

Put your code on github, or maybe a pull request to the romraider repo?

Has anyone attempted to use this?I've not been able to get it working, nor had much success contacting the guy who wrote it.

I could add this directly in RomRaider, I have done some development in the past. I need to learn how to read Perl first though...

Rather than convert a EcuFlash def, it might be easier to just be able to use the EcuFlash def in its native form. This was an enhancement that was proposed many years ago. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=6808EcuFlash defs are stored in a directory hierarchy on the filesystem. Each def is its own file and reference a BASE def which is a separate file as well. A set of EcuFlash defs is available here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3808
