I have a USDM 2005 Subaru Outback PZEV MT with ECU ID: 2F 22 0A 47 06.

I don't need to tune, I'd just like to permanently turn off an annoying P2096 code that nobody can get to the bottom of. I wouldn't mind the option of turning off other codes as well.

Is there any way to gain limited support for this ECU ID?
I'd be happy to make a donation for this ability.

do you have the standard rom file to post up? If you can post the rom someone might find time to start digging into it for you.

I can't seem to figure out how to download it.
I tried EcuFlash with SH7055 and SH7058 aka sti04 and sti05 but both get an init error.

I'm not 100% sure I'm doing it correctly.
I looked at the definitions in \progra~1\openecu\ecuflash\rommetadata\subaru\outback 2.5i. i looked at all of them, the closest was an 06 2.5i which said flashmethod sti05 and memmodel SH7058 so I picked these parameters under "Select vehicle type" in EcuFlash.

Is there another approach?

might be worth trying the other flash methods and see if that works out for you. If you can't get the rom off the car then nobody will be able to edit it for you though.

Oops
I didn't have the connector attached (just 1 for me on the pax side?). I was able to download it and saved it to rom and scf.

Is it not possible to just edit this rom in EcuFlash?
Looks like it will let me edit the trouble code mappings... but not sure if that'll do it, and if it would, what the proper procedure would be.

EDIT - I think I got it. You click on the checkbox on the code and then pick "Decrement" to change it from enabled to disabled. Does that sound correct?
