RomRaider

As you can tell from my post count, I am brand new when it comes to RomRaider and the Subaru ECU's. So after wasting 4 hours searching and getting no where, I'm going to break the first rule of forum etiquette and ask a very newbie question How can I find out which ECU I have? When purchased, I was told it was an ECU from a 2001 JDM STI Impreza with an EJ207 V8. Infortunately for me, whatever ECU def I download does not seem to work as I get the dreaded "ECU cannot be found" error. I was able to download from the ECU using ECUFlash but can't open it with either RR or ECUflash. I have been able to download some maps from here and can open them successfully, thus the reason for my question.

For that year it should be available in the default ECU def package, if not then it could be tuned with a non-open source ROM and with a different CAL ID.
You can look for the CAL ID at hex address 0x200 in the ROM you pulled.
It should be one of the defined ROMs listed here.

if you use the "show LTV" button in romraider logger what ECU ID does it give you?

There is 2 JDM ECU's which are not defined publicly yet. Both inherit from other ROM's though

You should be able to post the ROM here and have someone direct you to the appropriate file to use
