Did someone know, how the EDM STi's ECUs 01-05 are interchangeable? Can I use for example the 05 ECU on the 01 model or vice versa?
How about to use STi's ECUs on the WRX 01-05? I know that there are no pinouts for the AVCS on the WRX ECUs but else is all the same?

Is there somewhere a list available for the interchange / compatibility of Subaru ECUs?
All aftermarket ECUs, I saw for the STi for example are always specified for 01-05 models. So I would think, that the pinout is always the same.

sort of, yeah

the WRX started in the US in 2002, so it would be 02/03/04/05 will all swap between each other without needing to change anything in the harness. '02 calibrations can be flashed to '03 ECUs, and only 02/03 USDM WRX 16 bit ecus support carberry, but thankfully you can swap an 02 or 03 ecu directly into an 04 or 05.

OK, so USDM WRX ECUs are all interchangeable but also the EDM ECUs? Why the USDM WRX ECUs 04/05 not supported by Carberry? I mean they are also 16 bit and allegedly all 16 bit ECUs should work with CB. Are the STis ECU interchangeable?

My goal is actually having one ECU, that I can use as backup for EDM WRX 01-05 or EDM STi 01-05 models. In EU, those models should have all 16 bit ECUs and an 2l engine (EJ205 or EJ207).
In best case, I would have one ECU, that I can flash with CB for the EJ205 or the EJ207. Is this possible?

04/05 usdm WRX ecus are different enough that the carberry rom does not flash.

your idea will work, just need different tunes of course.
