Probably not 'better' but you can try... Keep in mind you will still have to sync the auto DME to a manual EWS and clear adaptations if you want to convert it to a manual DME. It's not only in the control bytes. And the change I mentioned was only after coding the vehicle properly, US M3 only.

i dont have any file with 192 in fact, all with 172 (ms41.0 and ms41.2)..thanks for all! this forum and your work is awsome!

Your method you described worked for me!
EWS delete.
ThankS again!

Could someone remember me the way of removing ews by bridging ground through resistor to some pin of SAB80C166W?

You need to change bit 7 to 1.

hey could anyone please help me out here .I had a ms40.1 ecu in my car i changed it to a ms41.0 with index 10 . It does not start but does turn over .The car does not even have the yellow socket for the EWS Module. I tried changing the decimal value in byte 8 from 15 to 143 and cutting the Green wire in the engine bay in the other socket port but still nothing. anyone know whats happening?

Are you using the ms40 or ms41 engine harness/sensors?

the ms40.1 harness and sensors, runs on ms40.1 but not on ms41.0 and this is a 1993 presumingly built in 92 e36 320i with 325i 1997 engine

Hi guys,

I'm trying to tornoff mufflef flup on my m52b28. According to definition i shoud change Bit 3 in Byte 8 to 0, but it's already a 0. I have 143 in byte 8, wich means 10001111. Can somebody assist? Full and partial added. Muffler is removed (racing car)

Bits are numbered Right to Left.

Hi,

have a issue with EWS off and A/C fault.
EWS delete works well but A/C doesnt work.
I only change the bit for EWS like in first post not the hole section.
Is the problem the FF in 14002-14003? And which numbers should I use there if this is problem?

Its M52B25 EU MS41.0

Regards

If all you changed was bit 7, then AC shouldn't have worked the whole time. You said you changed bits but only a single bit flip is required. What was your original value?

Thanks for reply.
I need ews off because engine swap but its not the original ecu for this car.
I only change the one Bit from if I remember correct 12 (0000 1100 ) to 140 (1000 1100).
EWS delete works fine but A/C didn`t work. It only works if I bridge relais.

Start with your factory file from the ROMs sticky then apply ews delete. If that doesn't work, you have bigger issues.
