How are you guys able to log AF Learning #1 A (idle)?
Every time i give it a try i get to few dots (maybe 10-15) and when i use Interpolate 10, the blue line gets vertical. If i switch to Interpolate 3 it gives my a 45 degree uphill line, and i've tried with both 5min and 10 min

In the idle you don't need to use the MAF tab whatever applied on the AF Correction and AF learning. add them together after 5-10 minutes of idle logging and calculate your MAF.

if you want to use the MAF tab then combine it with the cruise log and it will be generated on suggested MAF by RR.

This is driving me mad. Doesn't matter how many times i rescale, it always ends up with completely wrong idle and +40
So i'm thinking of going manually editing. Is that a bad idea?
If i do, where in the table is idle and +40?

Hi Injen,

1. how is the correction from revision to revision? does it go completely -ve then it becomes +ve on the next revision?
2. what mods do you have on the Car? do you have injectors?
3. what parameters are you logging and which tool are you using? is it VGI?
4. how is the AF Correction fluctuation during cruise?
5. did you disable the closed loop correction beyond 40+ so it will not be carried over openloop and skew the WOT logs?
6. what is the average ambient temp Vs. intake?

answer these question, and dont worry i will help you. I became a MAF scaling master after wasting 60K miles to understand it perfectly :). I will give you shortcut how to get it between +ve and -ve 2.

1. When i started the value was +1 +15 +15 +15 and now i'm at +15 -1 +1 +15. Every time i try to scale idle and +40 there no, or just a tiny, change to the table.
2. Exhaust and turbo inlet hose, otherwise everything is stock.
3. Tactrix 1.3 cable and i'm using LearningView and Romraider just like the tutorial. Nothing else.
4. Idle stays at +13/+15 all the time. +40 can fluctuate between +5/+15 while driving.
5. Monitoring both boost pressure and Romraider while driving is how i'm doing it. Don't know if there's a more correct way to do it :)
6. No idea, sorry.

EDIT: And sorry for my lack of English :)

First. I would suggest to go check for vacuum leak first. It seems that you have one.

Already done, and that's why i changed the turbo inlet hose :)

Then log this parameters. With the MAF tab and send me the logs with screenshot.

AF sensor
Af correction
Af learning
Engine load
Engine speed
Closed loop status
Maf voltage
maF g/s
Throttle plate opening
Intake air temp
Manifold relative pressue.
Final Fuel base if applicable.

30-40 mins of log after warming up the car.

Will go out for a drive later today. Should it be cruising in 5th gear or does it not matter?

1. coolant is up to the operating Temp.then start the logger
2.While logging, try to move the throttle pedal as slowly as possible. Quick throttle movements will result in bad data.
3. drive on all gears and all MAF voltages but always keep the car on closed loop.

Yes i noticed that, but still can't find some of them.
Closest to Closed loop status i can find is Closed Loop Fueling Target 2-byte and 4-byte

EDIT: Correct me if i'm wrong. But if i have +15 in idle, adding a higher value in Mass airflow g/s would make that value worse?
Just for fun i tried to scale idle after 30min driving. Romraider added up to 15% on some tables.

What's your manifold absolute pressure at idle? It would be beneficial to know you have no vacuum leaks before going on with maf scaling.
For scaling itself - nowadays I just log the needed params for closed loop scaling while driving around normally. The vgi's tool is pretty good at filtering out data. Half an hour - hour drive (like going to work) is sufficient to get the error within +/-5% for closed loop. Doing it for several iterations as in log/scale for 2 - 3 days in a row will get you to +/-3% easily.

How do i monitor absolute pressure?
I tried VGI tool once and i gave up. Did not understand what i should do with it :D
