Hello,

My friend has a 2001 e46 330i manual with ms430037 ecu from auto, I have write 0056 with ews off but the car is too LAZY, a lot more with 0056 software.

Found some Differences with tuner..
0037:
Full load detection
Max. vehicle speed for full-load detection is 0
Min. vehicle speed for full-load detection is 0

Torque
c_tq_max_gear 1280nm
---------------------
0056:
Full load detection
Max. vehicle speed for full-load detection is 255
Min. vehicle speed for full-load detection is 120

Torque
c_tq_max_gear 265 nm
----------------------

Will be great if somebody know where is the restriction..I will do more tests and post here.

Thank you and sorry for my english:)

I hope you didn't put m54b25 maps on that car. The name of your partial says it is.

No no I think :))
Is just a mistake when I renamed the partial to keep it untouched. I just compared with RR.

Just a heads up. The xdfs that are available at the TunerPro software website contains a lot of errors so I would take the differences you see between firmware versions with a big grain of salt.

For the 430037 firmware the real address for c_tq_max_gear is 0x8EC and c_vs_max_fl is located at 0xCBF.
I'm unable to locate c_vs_min_fl in 430037.

I already answered this to PM. But as in ms41 and ms42 the maps are same in auto and manual bins. The difference is made in the coding section. When doing full flash with kims tool the coding section is not overwritten so the ecu will stay in auto mode. To get in manual mode, you need to to virgin full flash in bootmode and do EWS sync to manual car. Or just use full flash from manual car in bootmode and the coding will be changed to manual in that way also.

Thank you Pazi, I have converted a manual ecu with a burnt ews not the auto one..forgot to mention.
But the car is faster with the 0037 a lot faster than 0056. I have write the ignition and fuel maps from 0037 to 0056 ...edited the "antijerk" . same thing ..I try to find where is the restriction in the 0056 software :(
Done 20 test on the road against another car..more response from 0037

Hope you understand what I'm trying to say...
I have some problems how to explain this in english.

MS43 uses auto-configuration for several modules over the CAN bus, like Multifunction Steeringwheel, TCU etc.

Ok because I have never actually seen ms43 working in actual m54 equipped car :D Only engine swaps. And in those the ecu will give you EGS error if it comes from automatic car. So I have assumed is the same system as in ms41/ms42.

another way to convert from auto to manual is :
Get an EWS from manual car sync with auto ecu and then clear adaption from inpa. working 100%
ms43 will know what to do
I tested in this way...I don't know if is working directly without ews from a manual car

MS42 & MS43 can clear egs configuration just by adaptation clear, even on desk. No EWS present will set egs = 0, in my experience.

you can convert any EWS fm manual to auto tranny and back using NCS
and Cloudforce is right - ms42\43 detects tranny type automatically when gets (or not) its signals

I wouldn't say that about ms42. I always get egs error with dme from automatic car swapped to manual car. If I don't do ews sync. But for ms43 i'm not sure because I have only worked with engine swap cars (no ews or any other box to connect).

You will get EGS DTC in both ecus, clearing adaptations will get rid off it.
