I have done few AD conversions in bootmode using jmgarageflasher without problems. But I stopped those because the C6 and CA definitions are now enough to tune those.
But just to test, I did C6 to AD conversion without bootmode using chipsters flash tool and yes I got that 170 error code also.

I think even if You`ll do this in bootmode, You`ll get 170 error too....

I don't think that there is similar software and you can't buy the kim's tool anywhere anymore. But Galetto should work fine too. I'm just working with definition file which can disable checksum check for partial so no need for that anymore.

Btw is there an address tested for CS disable for ms42? As for Galetto - it doesn't correct CS automatically. Also, what about CS in code section? Have tinkered with EWS delete for CA version, and faced some trouble possibly due to incorrect CS (car starts, idling well, but pressing gas pedal makes it choking)

170 error can be avoided if you use WinKFP flashing to update the module to C6 or CA.
But boot mode from a correct fullread is a 100% clone so it shouldn't have error 170 anymore. Chipster tool doesn't write 100% of the fullflash.

I just remembered. Error 170 happens often on desk with AD version EWS delete. When you attach the ecu to an engine and run it, it completely goes away.

It didn't. But that previous 170 error of mine was caused because I used modified bin. After doing 100% stock bootmode full flash, the error wen't away. After that I could do the needed changes. But on the other hand that was quite useless, because I can now do same changes to both ca and c6 versions
