Then you haven't done your homework. go to the sticky titled "***READ THIS FIRST***OpenMS41 Wiki" And don't stop reading until you have figured out why your flash isn't working.

hello im having issues here. im trying to delete EWS on my ms41.1 showing decimal value as 30, changed bit 7 to a 1 and i have 158 is this correct?

If there is 30 ... than 158 is correct.

Hi. I'm going to swap a m52b28 into an e30.
I've got the engine, wiring and dme from an automatic 528i e39.
I changed bit 7 in the byte 8 in order to delete ews, wrote and re-readed the bin to be sure the tuning was good.
It seems all good but i still can't see spark when kranking.
Where is the problem? I should connect an ews module even if i deactived it from dme?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

What was the decimal value of the byte and what did you set it to?

This will be fine.
Check you mass conections.
Maybe starter are defect ... you can check by messuring or test.

I'm cranking by giving 12v directly at the starter and the pins 26 and 49 of the dme.
Ground at engine block and pin 28 of dme.
Maybe I should use the key harness instead?

Maybe I should use the key harness instead? Coils for example get their +12v from ignition switch so probaply you should try stsrting the car "normally" so that everything gets powered.
