2009 was a good year for the US WRX, it kind of became like an STI (better turbo and suspension), but for EU, and specifically, Turkey, it's a confusing year, as it segments the WRX line

Reference: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=7591

Basically, I'm trying to reset my ECU to default, my tuned ECU id is AZ1E400U - which is an 2008 EDM ECU, but I don't know whether the tuner used a 2008 EDM WRX rom as a starting point for our car (Is it common practice?)

My concern is, the 2009 WRX in Turkey, could actually have a 2008 EDM ECU, assuming 2009 EDM had improvements, which Subaru in Turkey lacked behind, and released the 2008 car in 2009 too

So the actual question is, shall I flash the stock 2008 EDM ECU, or risk flashing the stock 2009 EDM ECU?
(I'm no tuner by any means, but comparing some tables, I can't see any difference between AZ1E400U and AZ1G400U, so maybe Turkey/EDM doesn't differ, and 2009 was a dull year for the EDM WRX too, as far as I know, Turkey is EDM too, so stock 2009 makes some sense)

It mainly depends on the turbo. Do you have a TD04 or a VF52?

Updating on this, i have had a look at the EDM 2008 and 2009 WRX images, and they are different. The tables RomRaider accesses seem to contain identical data, but there are differences in other places of the ROM, be it code or tables RomRaider does not know about.

So, i'd choose the stock ROM matching your ECU ID then. Any other could potentially brick your ECU.

Also, check the differences before you flash anything using compare mode in EcuFlash.
