I bought a spare ecu and i was looking at playing with it. It a different software revision so i was going to upgrade it with kim's software but i am unsure if its manual or auto, what is the offset for the auto/manual section of the ecu code?

Is the EWS delete file a manual or i guess virginized(If this means what i think)? What happens if you delete ews in the code and never sync it? Does the ecu figure out if its manual or not?

Should i flash a virgin file with JMgarage and then work with kims tool afterwords?

Thanks guys!

DME auto-detects if an EGS is used in the vehicle or not. If it´s from an auto, just reset variant adaptations and you´re done. Actually it´s a good idea to reset all adaptations, nevertheless if the ecu is from a manual or an auto.

Hey guys...

I've been reading this forum for quite some time now, didnt really engage much. I'm playing with MS ECU's for quite some time... I have a smaller shop where we do mods and mechanical work on BMW's.

Recently we did a auto-manual swap and part of the process we wanted to flash the ECU with newer software.

7508525
7511570
and 7512254

Are the actual numbers from the ECU but i cant seem to find the update in daten files from bmw. With Bosch ECU's there are descriptions in files usually and MSS52/54 files also. I cant seem to find that for MS43 so i flashed an update with WinKFP but i'm getting an "ECU self test error" so it's a SW issue and i cant find the old daten file.

Anyone care to look for a updated daten file? It's now a M54B22 Manual.

Use realoem.com to find last flash number for your engine.
There haven't been any updates for 12 years or more.

There is no manual specific file for ms43, it's a software switch within adaptations, detected from EWS coding data.
