Finally got the new setup to the dragstrip.

04-WRX 5 speed
v9 EJ207-stock everything including the downpipe, tuned by Stephen Clark @ iatuning
5 spd-Exedy OEM clutch

13.695 @ 105.58
2.07 60ft
8.88 1/8th mile

That was my best pass of the night only got 4 passes in. Gotta get that 60ft down. Launching the 207 is slightly different than my 255 was. Needs a little extra clutch slip to keep from bogging. 60ft started at 2.35 worked it down to 2.07. Blipped redline at the top of second gear barely but enough to kill some time. I feel like the car has a 13.3 in it with a good 60ft and better shifting, maybe even slightly better. Laptop shut down on me, couldn't adjust launch control so it stayed set at 4500 all night.

Overall pretty satisfied. First trip to the track in this car and with this motor. No hiccups no knocking. Taking it out for another trip next week with the same setup before i start throwing some parts at it

yeah man, not bad for time, but when you replace the downpipe you're going to have the availability of another 60 to 80 WHP with proper tune. of course working on the 60ft is a primary goal, no surprises there.

Which ECU/ROM are you using?

Ecu is a 03 jdm v8. A4TEEOB. Using the free launch control patch.

Not sure about 60-80whp with the downpipe. I think these twinscroll downpipes flow pretty well. I figure with the downpipe and an extra pound or 2 of boost ill pick up 25-30hp. Definitely gains to be had there, just wanted to know what it would do basically stock. Boost Solenoid should help a little as well though the factory 2 port is doing ok right now. Have a cobb 3 port just waiting till i have some injectors as well to do the exhaust & bcs together.

catalysts as well dropping the peak flow/velocity, the one that is the most restrictive is the first one in the downpipe.

what is your peak logged load and peak logged mass air flow?

the reason I asked about the ecu/rom is that tells me you're using AVCS and also have proportional/integral boost control, which is much better than the USDM 16 bit EJ205s got.

since you got it protuned, are you still interested in all of the tuning aspects of the vehicle?

being at a stock level and incrementally changing parts and making changes is a great way to learn about tuning, parts effects, and all that jazz.

I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, i will get back to you once I'm home on that

Definitely still interested in the self tuning aspects. I did an e-tune with Stephen Clark and have learned a little along the way along with reading every guide I can get my hands on. Thats exactly why I swapped the motor this way. I wanted it completely virgin components wise to help build up my understanding from scratch.

Max load (calculated) is 3.31 g/rev at 3565 rpm
Mass Airflow 255.59 g/sec @ 6345 rpm
Mass Airflow Voltage 4.52

8)

That's pretty good for near stock engine without mods.
