Hello everyone,
I found the ROMRAIDER SW via a Subaru forum for my 2002 2.5 Outback AT CEL P0733 - Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio.
My understanding is the RR is able to log & monitor system data such as TCU signals, Drivetrain sensor signals, etc., etc., however, when I looked at the list of supported Subaru ECUs, I don't see any 2000-2004 Outback ECUs listed.
This said, I don't need to Tune or Flash the ECU ROM, I just need to monitor / log the AT Trans behavior, to help determine potential causes for my P0733 error.
Q: Can I monitor / log my 02 Outback's Transmission data / signals / IO Parameters (without) having an ECU in the Subaru supported list?
Or, if the answer is NO, then since Subaru 4EAT AT was used up to about 2008, is it possible to use an Outback 05 or later ECU Definition to monitor my 02 Outback 4EAT?
Thanks for the help on this.
Ron

You do not need a definition to monitor standard parameters of my03+4eat tcu. You may you rr logger or ecuexplorer software.

Thanks for the feedback Sasha_A80! That's the confirmation I was looking for.
So at this point it looks like all I need is a Laptop, USB cable, Tactrix Openport 2.0 and RR (and /or) ECUExplorer and I should be good to go!
Anything else you can think of before I go forward on this?
Thanks.
Ron

You do not need Openport for logging. K-line adapter fills the bill. Moreover ecuExplorer does not support Openport2.

Thanks Sasha_A80.
I see that there are allot of K-line adapters for various vehicles.
Is there a specific K-line USB adapter you know works for 2000 - 2004 Subaru? IE something that does not require rewiring?

Any cable marked as KKL or VagCom is formarly applicable. There are cables based on fake FTDI chips. You may get and use any based on China's CH340.

Got it. Thanks Sasha!
I'll grab one of those and go from there.
