Hello.
can anyone suggest how to disable in ms41.0:
- O2 sensor (lambda probe)
- car speed signal (VSS)
- and change from automatic to manual (I'm just asking you to turn off CAN communication only where)
thank you in advance for the hint

What exactly mean on byte8 bit 0 and bit 1 - DTC/MIL Related? These two bits are from one signal? I ask because on my stock Ms41.0 these bits are 0. Now I swapped engine and i want to know on dash when i have error on engine. This engine need to tune for turbo.

Thats right. I think he wants to know how to retrofit a check engine indicator. AFAIK the hardware of all MS 41.x is identical? If so and byte 8, bit 0 and bit 1 activate the indication of engine faults, he just needs to connect the corresponding pin of the ECU connector to pin 16 on X16 of the instrument cluster to have a check engine indication. On some instrument clusters the "check engine" is blacked out. So he can use pin 8 of X16 (DDE fault indication) instead. Of course he needs to add a bulb on the instrument cluster.

Running the wire isn't enough. There is also components missing inside the ecu.

Does that mean, that not all MS41.x are identical?

Yes.
M41.0 isnt identical to MS41.0 with non flashable ... there are also some difference between the nonflashable ecus. also MS41.0 and MS41.1, MS41.2 are different (see extra parts for CEL).

Ok, thanks. I ever thought the hardware is identical and only the software is different.

I've made a spreadsheet for calculating the correct value of the control-bits, including the function of the bit as fas as it's known. I've tested byte 7 and byte 8 and the changed value's worked perfect.

Fun-option, change bit 3 of byte 8 to 0 and the exhaust flap wil stay open, resulting in a more sophisticated version of the golf-tee-mod 8)

Please let me know if the ODS-version doesn't work, I'll try to convert it to an Excel.

FYI the first post from 2014 (and google doc in the first post) has the exhaust flap bit and many other bits already defined.

I know, all the information in the spreadsheet is based on info from this topic. I've made it so you can easily calculate the correct value.

I'm all for utilities that make it easier for people to do things. Do you mind posting an Excel version as well? I'll add it to the first post.
