Hello all ,

I am no engineer by any means but I have started (along with some input here and there) a mapping project for the Bosch Me7.2

I have damos/a2l/OLS files for this DME but am wanting to gain a deeper understanding of its flow

I have tried to load into IDA but the only progress I get is with scripts and I feel like I don't learn much that way. I have had better luck reading functionsrahmen for similar cars who use same DME and understanding that way then finding maps via A2L and back tracking them through my 64kb hex dumps

https://github.com/zarboz/BMW-XDFs/tree ... 204.4%20V8

This is where I have been keeping track of my files / maps etc I was hoping someone could point me towards loading a file in IDA

I have tried using some existing IDC scripts to make file loading easier but I feel like by not understanding what the script does it puts me in a further handicapped position to perform from

I am not asking for a handout or for someone to dig through this for me I am trying to see if anyone can lend me some insight into how to load these files by hand into IDA

Thus far I have been doing as such:
Go work on my own
Processor as Siemens c166
C167_CR_SR
default mem
press C to load

This doesn't get me to far

I have tried using :
https://github.com/AndyWhittaker/IDAProBoschMe7x

But as i mentioned since I do not REALLY understand what this script is doing I am not sure the results I am looking at.

if ANYONE is willing to lend me some input on the IDA side so I can further track down mappings that would be GREATLY appreciated
