How would you do a weighted average? As in the results are more weighted towards the axis point? If so, how would you setup the weighting?

I just reduce the distance % function in the set axis screen, that improves data for something that works on fuel trims/error.

Yep, but that filters out data that our outside that % range, so you'd probably need bigger log. That's one approach. You could also try mode. Then you could try avg between mode and mean, but that's manual on excel.

But repeating the tuning should eventually get you close I would think.

i currently use Confidence interval to validate the mean with the sample data set, the only issue is filtering out the transient data

I am unable to open the program.

I am running windows 7 enterprise and have updated to the latest version of java. When I attempt to open the 2.5.1 version, It will flash open a command window then close it. I then receive the following error "Could not find the main class: com.vgi.mafscaling.MafScaling. Program will exit".

The few things I have read online about that error relate to some commands missing from within the ".jar" file.

I have tried a few older versions of the program from GitHub. Version 2.4.2 will also flash open a command window and close it. It will also create a "maf_scaling.log" file in the parent directory. The file is 0kb and blank when I open it in notepad.

I went all the way back and tried version 2.2.6 with the same result as 2.4.2.

I am sure it is an obvious issue on my end but am having a hard time with this. I have skimmed through several pages of this thread (not all of them) and I seem to be the only person having this issue.

Thank you for your hard work on this project and I look forward to being able to use it!

@BoostedV10 how do you start the program? try this - open cmd (click on start, type cmd - you'll see 'command prompt', hit 'enter'). cd to the 'mafscaling' directory. run 'java -jar MafScaling.jar'. post here the output if the program doesn't start.

Hi,
I downloaded this program on windows 10 and im trying to change the header values for an MS41.2 Fuel table copied from RomRaider.
It copys over fine and the program seems to be working properly, but for some reason I cant make changes or do anything with my keyboard. Theres not even an up or down arrow that I could use to manually change header values.

Am I doing something wrong? Or did I just find a bug?

I also noticed that from the latest Release V 2.5.1 There seems to be 3 Programs that can be opened.

There is
-Run.bat (for windows it says)
-Run.sh (For Linux, Mac OSX)

but what is

MafScaling "Executable Jar FIle"

Anyways, Id love to use this program if I can figure out this issue!

Thanks

Im sorry, please disregard that last post. I was trying to edit the original Table on the Table Rescale tab, and not the rescaled table.

Anyways,
This program would be sweet if it could also do percentage changes.
Like for example when changing injectors on a properly tuned fuel table. It would help alot to have a percentage interpolation instead of having to go through each cell and calculate percentage difference manually.

Other than that the program seems to work well!

The assumption was that most tuning apps do allow actual change for a cell (allowing just a % change seems limiting to me). But if yours only supports % change then you don't have to do it manually for each cell anyways, use excel to paste original table, resulting table, and a formula to calc the % of change rather than the actual change number for a whole table. Could save you 5-10 mins ;)

Hey @vgi! Do you think it would be possible to add support for more then 32 columns to Log Viewer? My Nissan spits out all the log-able data into the csv exports, thus I have to constantly trim them . Thanks as always!

There is no limit on number of columns in Log View tab. Check the column name that doesn't load, perhaps it has some invalid char or coma or send me your log file.

Sorry for the delay VGI, with the holidays haven't had a chance to grab a log.

I think I figured it out, MAF Scaling doesn't like columns that have the same exact names, which understandable! In this case there are Fuel and Ignition based trims, like IAT Trim, in the software they are in proper sections, but when you export to CSV all you have is two trims with the same name.

I'll ask the developer to add Fuel and IGN to the name of each trim, so it would be "Fuel IAT Trim", "IGN IAT Trim" etc.

Log is attached if you're curious enough to see what MAF Scaling does :).

Thanks!

Update, developer of the other software to have uniquely named columns and MAF Scaling is more then happy, even with 85 columns! :D

Hey, just want to thank you for this awesome tool!!! This, RR and FreeSSM are now my full arsenal. Amazing. I can program some Java, do you need help with testing anything?
Also I was thinking about adding injector scaling things, like tip-in to this. Think it's worth it?

The program had been out there and for quite some time there were no requests.
You could clone it and make any changes you like, then just do pull request to merge your changes to add them to this program.

Makes sense. Thank you!
And for supporting this program too.
If I'll have time I want to make this "all end all" Framework is really good.
Although I think it works too well. Spend 2 weeks scaling the stock MAF to 1% and failed lol. It makes my OCD tingle.
I'll fork it when I get to it.
