Does anyone have the compiled version of AZ1G202G? Laptop was formatted and I need to do quick adjustment.

First time testing this on my 06 ADM sti.

I can not however use Learning view, is that due to the custom binary and LV can not reference to the Current map being used?

When trying to use use LV via RR it states ECU definition is not defined. or do I not have the correct XML?

Logs work perfectly.

Thanks

I created a LC - FFS - CEL rom for AE5IB00V (2011 USDM STI) including the ECUFlash definitions and they appear to be all correct as far as values are concerned (I don't want Speed Density so I removed it from the patch, plus I already have a tuned rom, no need to reinvent it, the MAF is fine for me)

So can anyone shed some light on how to create the necessary header file for my rom so that I can generate a patch for it?

I did use SharpTune to do a XML to IDC conversion but I don't know what to do with it in IDA and proceed to generate a .map file or .h file to use with Merp in HEW.

So success, however this is for an STi rom of the same year, afaik I do not believe I can use this rom, as there are differences in the knock/timing/avcs tables (no exhaust retard avcs table in the WRX rom).

So I figured out how to get the exact rom i want but for the 2011 STi, now the missing part for me is to create a .h file for HEW for the rom I actually want, but I am lost in IDA on how to find the necessary addersses or to generate a map/.h file to create the patch, once i get that I am on the road to success... but how.

Have you had much luck getting this going?

I'm interested in AE5IB00V (including SD if possible).

Hi, can someone help me?
I can donate for someone that can build a nice patch for my AZ1G301F ('09 JDM GRB STi)

Why don't you leave the patches online for download? I work in IT and cannot figure out this bloody HEW and GNUSH stuff. So would be hard for the non IT dude to work out as well.

Instructions are really not that clear for this unsupported software.

I've been trying off and on since 2016 to get my rom modded, but ended up just sticking with the gratis mod due to the complexity of flash or advanced.

Multiple steps are needed, but when you get it right, you should be able to build all in HEW, it will compile all the code, baseline and apply the patch to the base ROM and validate it and then use sharptune to generate definitions in romraider (logger and ecu editor) and ECUflash.

The folder structure is important. You need a folder containing:

The Merpmod folder, as cloned from git
The subarudefs-Merpmod_dev folder, as cloned from git
A SubaruRoms folder, within this make a subfolder called OEM, and then in there goes all the stock ROMs you're trying to patch. Name the stock roms AZ1G202G.bin, for example (or whatever your CAL ID is).

You need Sharptune in the merpmod folder, and you need to run sharptune and tell it where your definitions repo is (the subarudefs folder).

See how you go with that... Andea helped me with this, once i got it all right, you should see the sharptune donate thingy popup when the build is almost done...

By any chance are you able to run through the patch on video please? it would help bigtime! I would if i could however i still havent figured it out.

I'm in the same situation. I'm trying to build a patch for my CAL_ID without success.

Awesome! thank you. it will help ALOT! I know it takes a bit to work out, but then there is the grunt work needed for all the other ROM's so I'm sure a few of us could help once we have an understanding ;)

I figured out how to get the HEW and GNUSH installed and have written a guide (below). the patch bit, I haven't done it yet but that's where we come back to the original instructions maybe?

The original instructions should be sufficient for a ROM that's already been defined. I'm not sure it's possible to write a one-size-fits-all set of instructions to teach how to define a patch for a new ROM. That really just takes time and understanding of how to disassemble a ROM to find all the relevant addresses. It's not necessarily difficult, but time-consuming, and without a decent background in computer engineering, can be quite overwhelming.

Aijii,

So I am completely new to this. Please delete if necessary, but I wanted to get the CEL Flash for Knock (don't really want anything else, but FFS or LC is fine as well. Not going SD) for my rom. However its a rom provided by Eric @ TP. I want to patch it so I can take advantage of this but I am guessing that is not possible at this state. Most likely I would have to build my own patch for his rom or my factory rom and then copy his tables?

Tuned rom: AE5I910L
Stock rom: AE5IB00L
Car: USDM 2011 WRX 5MT Wagon

Both appear to have xmls in the SubaruDefs (alpha repo) either way I dunno if I should put a bounty for it or try to make the patch myself?

I have tried to create a custom patch (have HEW/GNU/IDA) and was successful with making one for the AE5I500V rom as those header/config/linker files already existed. I have not found instructions on how to create a MAP file using IDA (I tried the SharpTune XML to IDA but have no idea how to apply it or generate the map file necessary) for the above mentioned rom's

I have been successful with creating a rom that has the CEL flash in it using the Flash.h build, but I have no clue on how to create a definition file for ECUFlash to expose those functions (CEL on Knock) as I don't know the address I should be defining in the file. I guessed and tried to use other "flash" based definition files around the same rom version as mine but I don't think the values exposed in ecuflash after creating the definition file are correct.

I can provide the roms if necessary. If I am correct I should be able to use the AE51500V rom on my car as long as I copy the tables and disable SD function (I am building a patch without it.

If there was anyway you could help build a patch for the above mentioned roms, you would be my hero. Specificallly I would prefer the AE5I910L version. CEL on Knock + FFS + FC is all I really want in the rom.

NOTE: I just cloned your repo's will attempt building a patch using your changes, but I am still at a loss on how to create the definition file in ECUFlash to expose the mods (the address field is what stumps me).

Hello
is it possible that you can help me with a patched ROM for wrx usdm 2011? (AE5IA10L)

I've circled everything and I haven't been successful :(

willing to donate
