Hey guys, Wondering how I can get my A/C button to work for a m52tu in my e30. Wanting to be apply turn on launch control or exhaust crackle by pressing the button, as stated as possible on the ms4x website. Thanks in advance.

You need the controll module and wiring harnass for the a/c. Do you have those?

Or maybe use pin 29 on plug x60004 to switch on airco in your ecu. Pin 29 on x60004 from the ecu is the a/c signal wire.

AC on ms42 turns on only via CAN.
29 pin x60004 is output signal FROM DME.

on my opinion there is only one solution... to use e36 instrument cluster (with can) from Compact.
in this type of clusters there is input specially for ms42/43 AC activation. and this input understands e30 climate control signal.

by putting signal to 29 pin x60004 you do literally nothing, you can check it by yourself in inpa (digital values)

Thanks you for your reply.
Is there a possible way to fit an e36 dash into an e30? If not is there another way I can get the aircon to work?

The only problem with e36 cluster is fuel gauge, you'll need somehow to install sensors from e36 into e30 fuel tank, everything else should work properly.

All you need to do - is wiring... and the mask for fitting e36 cluster to e30 dash.

many years ago, I have installed e34 cluster into my e30))) here is example, not exactly same as 36 but close.

Thanks for your reply. Is there no other way I can get it to work? Maybe through editing in romraider or through obd2 somehow? Still got a lot of work to do to my car so adding in a cluster isnt really on the table. Cheers

You can't do anything through editing in romraider to force ms42 turn on the AC with wires.
program code need to be edited.

I have told You the easiest proper way.

or just bridge system without DME in it.

Okay man. You understand what I am wanting to do right?
When the aircon button is pushed, a signal is sent to the dme, to change state of a few settings. I am wanting to achieve this without a lot of the headache.

As I said earlier.. You can`t achieve this without editing PROGRAM section, even if you really want it... You can't. Because changing of this few states only possible when DME recieves command by can...
Any kind of editing calibrations wouldn't help you at all.
only reasonable solution is e36 cluster. Or if you IDApro guru, you can edit program code by yourself.
As far as I know - nobody did it before. So there is no another opnions for you unfortunately,

I've done a few searches. Cant find anything about fitting the e36 cluster. Alot of comments are saying that it isnt possible at all. Any ideas?

This is not impossible thing to do...

All you need - is to do wiring, and as I mentioned before, the most complicated thing is to locate fuel sensors inside e30 tank.

Or you can hide e36 cluster's sircuit board somewhere with only purpose to switch on your AC, and use your's e30 cluster as main...

What about a CAN controller?

it is possible, but you need to know what to send. I think, we can hide an arduino based can controller inside ms42, and to use unused pins as inputs. But this idea need to be developed.
