I'm not sure what would cause that delay. I use an old dual-core Pentium and my CPU while logging 80 samples/sec is about 4%.
Can you submit the rr_system.log?

I can the next time I'm at the PC. I'm not sure if you saw my post above but if I uncheck fast polling the data comes in realtime.

Stupid question but how do I actually establish a connection? J2534 doesn't use a COM port so COM drop-down is empty. Car is on. OpenPort 2.0 device is plugged in to both computer and car. OpenPort is visible in device manager and has the driver installed.

Edit: It kind of worked flashing some values for a second then gets a red "Timeout waiting for 6 more bytes" at the bottom of the window then just shows "Disconnected"

For the short time I could see logging values, My target AFR was showing 0.004.

I checked in the logger defs and it has X/16384 as the conversion.

For my car at least (VC264), the conversion needs to be 14.7/(X/64)

I'm getting a timeout errors when I try to log/monitor arbitraty RAM locations as WORDs and DWORDs, while single byte locatoins are monitored without any issues. For example:

Code:
<ecuparam id="vTFDCOMB" name="vTFDCOMB" desc="Drive power reference value" target="1">
        <ecu id="ED00Z">
               <address lenght="2">0xFFAFEC</address>
        </ecu>
        <conversions>
                    <conversion units="raw" storagetype="uint16" expr="x" format="0" />
        </conversions>
</ecuparam>

or
Code:
<ecuparam id="vVSPASCD" name="vVSPASCD" desc="vehicle speed for ASCD" target="1">
        <ecu id="ED00Z">
                      <address lenght="4">0xFFBB24</address>
        </ecu>
        <conversions>
                      <conversion units="raw" storagetype="uint32" expr="x" format="0" />
        </conversions>
</ecuparam>

gives "Timeout, waiting for 1 byte more" or "... 2 bytes more ..."

nisrog is able to monitor same location in realtime without any issues so I assume ECU does support this. What do I do wrong?
Didn't have a chance to see with logic analyzer what's happens on the bus at that moment, hoped that I simple misconfigured the logger.

You spelled "length" wrong.

The longer I was recording the more out of sync the data would get.

I was able to replicate this behaviour today. Had the laptop on battery and it was getting pretty low while doing a log. When the laptop went into battery saver mode, the display of data slowed significantly. This is Windows 10, have no idea what being throttled back was the cause, but might be something for you to check out.

@Dschultz; just some enhancements.

ECU Reset Command: $11 0x80 (Backup RAM reset, just clears self learns and comms aren't lost)
TCM Reset Command: $11 0x01 (Power on Reset, needs to re-establish connection afterwards)
Positive Responses: 0x54 (ECU) No response (TCM. Does NOT give any response for a positive reset, but will provide a 0x12 response for any value that isn't 0x01)
TCM Read Memory: 0x23 (might support 0x3D for writing? haven't tested yet, as I'm not sure if it's safe to request $3D without specifying ARB ID's.)
Clear DTC's (All Modules): $14

Lastly, could RR logger have SID 0x23 0x3D support for the ECU? While it's not natively supported for the ECU, adding the necessary code isn't too difficult.

Supported SIDs list -> https://nissanecu.miraheze.org/wiki/Com ... _Protocols
