Hello,

I am trying to modify a Speed Density 32-bit 06 EDM ECU from a 2006 Hawkeye RB320 model. I know those came out with PPP Ecutek modified ECU but this has been tuned by someone else and I was able to read the file with Ecuflash so I asume it's no longer Ecutek. The problem is that the ECU software version is unknown. After viewing address 0x2000 with a hex editor and converting it to ASCII I was able to see that the version is A8DH2MMZ.
I have tried searching with no luck. I also tried using the A8DH200Z definitions and I was able to read a few maps but no speed density maps appeared with the MerpMod A8DH200Z definitions so I assume either its not MerpMod patched or the A8DH200Z are different to the unknown A8DH2MMZ.

I have attached the read file. Any ideas? Have you ever come across to such version?

it is MerpMod but there are several compiled versions and you have to have the right definitions for it -> can you PM the rom ?

you can also search "MerpMod" as a string in the rom and you should find a string like "A8DK100Z.MeRpMoD.Flash.Testing.v14.11.11.2024" that's your full MerpMod ID

Hello, have you abandoned the continuity of flex developments?

is there a possibility of a motivational donation to a merp AE5IA10L USDM WRX 11?

it's not about donations - it never was, it's just lack of time in this period, porting MerpMod to another rom requires at least 6-8 hours and for the moment I don't have that ... hopefully better times will come :)

Thanks for responding, please excuse me if my donation comment was ugly, that was not the intention

in that case you could have some tip or advice to be able to create the patch, I believe that I am close to the objective but my hell is in the part of the directions and references I think that I cannot interpret them very well

I will tell you a brief review of what I have

With XMLtoIDC I have created table scripts that I open in IDA pro, then some names appear where I imagine it is the beginning of the code and the tables

So when I get this, are those the addresses that I should put in HEW at the moment I am porting the patch to a new ROM?

How can I identify the exact address that I must indicate in hew when making the patch?

That's exactly the part that requires the most time - finding the addresses in IDA - and that's also the part where you won't find any step by step tutorial because there is nothing standard about it - it varies from rom to rom and person to person :)

It may help you if you take another rom (or more roms) that already has the required addresses defined, open all in IDA and find similarities between the known rom/address and your rom (searching pieces of code that surround the known address or the references to that address ). It's not an exact procedure and obviously there's risk and maybe errors sometimes ...
