Hey,

I need some support concerning CAN-bus logging or sniffing with Tractrix OP2.0 Stand-alone-logger.

I´d like so log CAN-bus without alltime haveing a labtop and Vector CANape/alyser in car.
So I like to uese my tractrix.

Does someone every use stand-alone-logger for simple CAN-sniffing?

How to configure ?
I found some descriptions in "sanples-> canlogging", but it seem to be some source code to be compiled. Never worked on this kind of stuff on tractrix, so some can give me support, what to do ?

Times ago, I asked in Tractrix-Forum simular, to implemented CAN-logging functionallity without protocol, but no replay.

Final solution should be to have a logcfg.txt configuration, simular to UDS or SSCAN-logging

Code:
type=CAN
protocolid=0 ; no protocol will be used
boudrate=500 ; 500kBd

paramname=rpm
canid=0x280
startbyte=0
databits=16
scalingrpn=x,0.25

Anyone able to add something like this to Stand-alone-logger functionallity instate of Tractrix themself ?

If yes, IMO next step is to extend functionallity to CAN-FD

Thanks for hints and help
BR Jochen

that´s not the task of this post...

I got profressional tools for sniffing, but I what to enable Tractrix Stand-alone-Logger to have it simple and cheap..

If stand-alone-logger will support CAN-logging and sniffing, it will help many users on common cars :)

true, logging just on the tactrix at canbus speeds would be more ideal than the slow polling rate it currently supports to SD card

If you want a config for OpenPort 2 logging, you can use this tool to generate it from a RR Logging Profile.

As for sniffing, the OP2 can, but only to a connected laptop. It will not record sniffed CANbus packets to SD.

Dale, the aim is realy to sniff CAN-bus on mirco-sd on Tactrix not to need to have the labtop in car.
If I need to use labtop, I take my Vector-tools..

I ask in Tactrix-forum in 2017 but no replay. Do you know if Cobly or Mike still work in Openport functionallity or is any "thirdparty" is able to add functions stand-alone-logger ?

I haven't spoken to either of them in years, so I don't know the plan to add functionality.
