Thanks for the offer. But you just had problems with your 7051, and there is a language barrier that makes troubleshooting difficult.

For these early tests I prefer to have a33b do the 7051 tests, because he did a lot of the development and testing on that kernel and is very familiar with it.

Hah. Found the (very) tricky bug in recent npkern builds affecting 7058 / 7055_18 , when flrom failed with either
Code:
_Unknown Response code 0x83
or
Code:
180nm: bad DL_ERASE

Actually the bug has been in the code forever, and I even had it in my TODO as " fix functions.h set_vbr + set_imask clobberlist" for a while...
But it only manifests itself with certain versions of gcc with certain compile options, which explains why some older precompiled builds worked fine, and why all my attempts to troubleshoot this a few months ago failed.

I tested the fixed version on my bench 7058 and it works normally now.
1.04 is coming soon now, for real.

Ooooh that's great to hear! I was worried we'd be stuck with the 2018 kernel for a while haha Not that there are any immediate issues with it, but newer is typically going to be better in some capacity ;)

Thanks for everyone's patience and to Pytrex and bradsm87 for testing the release candidates.

I have only personally tested reflashing on 7055_35 and 7058. As usual, this is experimental software, etc etc.

See first post in thread for download links.

****** v1.04-8e3390d_20210603

-7051 support (alpha, very little tests done)
-added a bunch of ecukeys
-new setdev syntax (see USING.txt)
-new "dump all" syntax
-updated error codes, will need a npkern build at least as recent as the one included.

I have another feature request:

Autocompletion of file and path names by pressing Tab. eg:

flrom f *Hit Tab key* autocompletes to flrom fullfilename.bin *Hit Tab Key again* flrom fullfilname1.bin

Thoughts?

I have a 350Z that my ECU malfunctioned and got thrown away by the guy I took it to. He put the wrong ECU in and I ordered a replacement ECU from the USA.

The ECU I got is from an revup 2006 car, mine is a DE 2005. Was wondering if I can flash this 2005 DE image I found on these forums with no problem via nisprog?

When comparing the ROM dumps what do I need to confirm to make sure it won't "brick", loader version? If the flash fails will I be able to just reflash my original ROM?

Someone on an uprev tuning platform told me they use revup ECU with the DE engine all the time as the revup engines fail the most often they replace them with DE engines and just re-use the existing ECU.

He said they "copy the DE tables over with uprev" which sounds like they just combine some data rather than cross-flashing. Hoping a full flash is the easy way out since the ECU is throwing all sorts of error codes right now. Also unable to view any tables from the forum dumped image as RomRaider doesn't have the XML definitions for that particular model.

I took my car to Nissan so they have reprogrammed the NATS module on it and you can start the engine but the service techs were not knowledgeable enough to load up the correct ROM for my car and just left it as "wrong ecu for the vehicle" then charged me top dollar

Hello! I got another ECU A56-Z98 and the same thing happens with it as with the A56-Z70 unit! Their boards are wired the same way! I tried to change one number, but in the end the same thing happens, he refuses to write. Although on A56-X75, A56-U20 and A56-U18 it records without problems.
Code:
Connected to ECU !
ECUID: 9W85A
Key candidate   dist (smaller is better)
0: 0xB5A068CD   0
1: 0x98EBB319   5
2: 0x968148AD   15

Using best choice, SID27 key=B5A068CD. Use "setkeys" to change if required.
now using 7055.

SID36 block 0x0080/0x0080 done

SID BF done.
ECU now running from RAM ! Disabling periodic keepalive;

Hello ,

No matter what I try I keep getting this "wrong kernel for silicon.." message , tried both sh7055_35 and sh7055_18 with the latest nisprog 1.04 version without success . CD700 ecu

I could use the kernel tho to dump fast , but I cannot proceed with any flashing option , always same message o wrong kernel .

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Try the kernels included in the 1.04 release, they should be version 115 (your screenshot shows 107).

Hi fenugrec, how much would you charge to do the 7059 version supporting flashing via CAN? I love to have it.

Also, anyone has any idea how to unbrick SH7059? Mine is bricked but I can't find any doc how to hard reflash it.
