Hi all,

As promised in another thread, I wanted to post for once and for all the working version of LC for the MS42, as there seems to be many unknown (and the same questions pop up in this forum every now and then).

Got to admit: 2 posts from Strippenstrolch321 in this forum (combined with remarks placed by others) led to this. Wouldn't say I figured it out on my own at all.

SO, keep in mind:
- The definitionfile, if it comes to the soft- and hard limiter, is a bit off. The axis+title don't reflect what is actually in there
- There is something with the AT/MT distinction; not pasting your new LC values in ALL of them, will result in non-working LC

The 3 columns in the soft- and hard limiter maps reflect (so from left to right):
- First column: Fifth gear
- Second column: Fourth gear
- Third column: First-Third gear (So the LAST column is the one you want to tweak)

The axis values do not reflect KPH, instead it's a calculation to come to the right KPH. To come to the right value, you should:
- Take your rev limitervalue , divide it by the KPH where the LC needs to cut = axis value
- Example: (7000RPM/14KPH)=500
- You'll notice, the value has to go UP to get a LOWER KPH for the LC
- I am not entirely sure if the value changes with the Rev limiter RPM setting, or it should always be divided by the 6500 RPM std. Will test this.

If you have done all of this, you can enter the LC soft- and hard limiter value in RPM in the column and it should work like a charm. Once again; don't forget to paste it to all of the soft- and hard limiter tables (AT and MT. All of them).

My working example:

RR screenshot is in the picture attached.

Hope this helps!

i'll try this as the last LC test was unsuccesfull due to some interferences with Richard's P&B map.

just a thing, why on MT Hard limiter ifI put the same value this gets marked in red (only on that), Vss is set @ 7200 but i'm using your numbers for limiters

TIA

I'm not sure. I think the definition file should be adjusted (if I can help with that, I'd be pleased).

Mine works for sure. I also have the 7200 VSS. So copy paste my numbers (I think you cant manually edit the axis values. Copy the map to excel, change the numbers, copy it including the first row (3 in total) and hit paste in romraider).

Btw, I did combine this with Richard's p&b and didn't have any issue. Today I created a new map with everything, except for the p&b (it's a trackday car..) and it again works like a charm.

Did You use it on C6 soft or on old AD soft?
Maybe here is the problem.

I will test it tomorrow, on my friend 323i on CA and AD soft.

so the rev limiter will be skipped when speed goes up above 10km/h .. but whta rev limit will be then ? if you push your engine in first gear, is there still a 7000 rpm rev limiter then ?

Let me add a note that might be useful for somebody. The 3rd column is not for gears 1, 2, and 3; it also includes neutral. Or at least, when I have put the LC only modifying the 3rd column limiter, I've also got the limiter in neutral.
Edit: The columns don't refer to gears or, at least, don't work like that. As stated before, I only modified the 3rd column, and I have the limiter in every gear plus neutral, even in the rear gear.
