Hello,
Has there been any development for the Bosch M5.2 DME for the M44 engine? One thing I would like is to be able to change the vehicle speed conversion factor for the E30. Do you know what program I can use to read and write the data (tune/calibration) portion of the DME? I could use WinKFP in Expert mode to write a custom file, but I don’t know how to convert between .0da and .bin and correct checksums.

I haven't yet found a value in the 16 KB ROM that resembles the vehicle speed correction value like in MS41, so if anyone can locate it that would be really awesome. I did locate the UIF with the VIN and ZB number.

First VIN entry is located at 3D66 - 3D72 h.

First ZB number entry is located at 3D81 - 3D83 h.

It looks like member ba114 started a GitHub repository for M5.2.1 development here: https://github.com/ba114/M5.2.1

I'd like to find the vehicle speed correction value for the 668 ECU, but if someone can find it in that 667 ROM maybe I could track it down in the 668.

Here are some stock files. I converted the .0da files into .bin files. The ID 40 ones can be opened with ba114's definition in Rom Raider. They are all for manual transmission.

Euro ID 40. ZB number 1439320.
Attachment:
B1439319.bin.zip

1996 USA ID 40. ZB number 1439324. (This one is mostly identical to the Euro version in Rom Raider.)
Attachment:
B1439323.bin.zip

1997+ USA TLEV for 668 DME ID 23. ZB number 1430342. (This is the one I would like to find the vehicle speed correction value in.)
Attachment:
B1430269.bin.zip

668 is only for USA TLEV from 1997/01, with secondary airpump.
667 is USA up to 1996/12 and all EURO versions.

You can't flash 667 file to 668 dme. Quite different maps/locations. You can only flash 667 file to 667 dme, or 668 file to 668 dme.

You can force it to flash. I "successfully" flashed 668 onto a 667 DME while doing some testing....still booted up but was not responsive to anything so force flashed back to 667.

What tools did you use to flash it?

Hey guys , I'm new here. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me out. :)

Does anybody know how to unbrick a 5.2 dme using winkfp or a bench flash? I can read ecu identification in inpa but can't get winkfp to erase flash and reprogram.

Hello,

I'm relatively new to the forum, I've learned how to flash ms41 / ms42 / ms43.
Now I have a new conversion M44b19 in E30.
I need to remove the EWS and be able to drive the vehicle without problems.
Is there a hex code for EWS ?
Vss do I also have to set it higher so that the engine does not run in emergency mode?

Excuse me I'm a beginner and not that good at it, almost like my English

Are you possibly working on a flash tool similar to the MS41 one?
It would be awesome to be able to tune the M44s like the M52!

Busterhax has already made a flash tool for it which i have tested fairly extensively.
