Hoping to get some more experienced eyes on these logs to either confirm or correct me on what's going on. But first, the background:
Car: 2002 USDM WRX, completely stock except for an STi up-pipe and a JDM 9:1 long block. Running one step colder than stock plugs (BKR7EIX)
Current tune: Stock (today is the first I've driven it with this engine),
A4SGA00C (I've linked to the stock map download link from that thread, have changed nothing yet).
Two third gear on-ramp pulls attached, the first one 1277-5100 RPM and the second one 1400-6000 (these both start way lower RPM than I have any business being WOT in third... but you know, data). My goal here is to make sure the timing tables are appropriate for the extra point of compression versus stock. I'm running 93 octane gas and it's very cold outside today (ambient temps are in the low 20s (degF)). Not really chasing power (yet).
In the first log, it seems like the Feedback Knock Correction is only pulling one step's worth of timing (2.1deg) below about 1800rpm and is completely clear by ~2100. The rest of the log looks clean. I've not seen fine learning deviate from zero anywhere.
In the second log, FKC never shows up at all (stays zero), the fine learning stays zero, but at around 2300rpm it pulls back the IAM from 16 to 14 (essentially pulling about 1.5deg) then seems fine the rest of the way up.
With some normal un-logged driving-around, the FKC never went beyond -4.22 degrees and the IAM worked its way up to 16 and stayed there for quite a while before that last pull. It seems like overall this is fairly stable/safe other than that transition period at high load/low speed. Is a reasonable path from here to go in the "Knock Correction Advance Max" table and take 1-2 degrees out of the columns for 1 through 1.4(?) g/rev below about 4k rpm? Or am I on the completely wrong path here?
Thank you!
