I'll post more later, but the basic steps now are

1) Launch RomRaider

got that part. :)

2) Launch UTEC logging application, select com port, start flow of data

by that i am assuming you want me to start hyperterminal, bring up the utec menu, then start logger 1 (for example) then exit hyperterminal leaving the utec streaming data to the com port... correct?

3) Launch Eninguity logger and select supported utec logging attributes (Afr mod ign etc)

at this point i'm completely lost. is there a plug in or something configurable inside of the RomRaider logger? as it stands i can select com3 (my tactrix) and it sees the oem ecu, and i can select items for logging, etc. but there's nothing that resembles or references anything "utec." i also see com1 but nothing changes if i select it as an object of focus, except the oem ecu logger loses its sync from com3.

4) Do your driving thing.

well, i got that part down pat at least. :)

thanks for all your help.

Man, sorry for my half asses response. I've been uber busy :(

I'll post a test release here with all you need. There is no need for Hyperterminal, you'll see ;)

I'll try to get it up tonight, better than me trying to explain things with no point of reference. :)

Ok, here is what I have.

1) Go to logger menu in RomRaider & launch the Utec logger first
2) Goto select port and select the com port the utec is sitting on. There will be 2 ports, one for the obd2 port, one for the serial device the utec uses
3) Go to Action>Start logging. This will start the flow of logger #1 data. Given you have a proper connection to the utec those bar should start moving :)

4) In RomRaider launch the ECU Logger
5) Select the proper comm port etc and get that data logging
6) To append UTEC data from the #1 logger, select the attribute you want to log as circled in the image below.
7) Use ECU logger as you normally would.

Here are some features of the Utec Program

- If your sound is on, it will talk to you. Seriously. If it sees a knock event while you're driving it will tell you "knock, count #". It says other things but I cant remember right now.

-The other tabs of the utec program are map editing tabs. You can load maps from a file (Load Map> Load from file) or load a map directly from the UTEC on your car (Load Map> Load Map #) Map data will appear in the table tabs. Since this is a test program, the editing tools arent very robust.

- You can only save edited maps to a file on disk. You'll need to hyper terminal them to your UTEC. I'm still working on this functionality.

-If your UTEC is acting up and gets out of sync with the UTEC program, go to Actions>force utec reset.

Thats it from the top of my head. I have not tested this in a while so let me know how things go.

Ohh, also, the only attributes you can log from the utec are the 6 that you see in the screen shot. If you really really need another one added from logger #1. let me know.

paul, eric:

i have mirrored paul's copy here:

http://www.ken-gilbert.com/ftpupload/En ... rev661.zip

for easier downloading.

i have also set up a simple ftp site to maneuver files around.

information is as follows:

user:
ftpupload@ken-gilbert.com

password:
PM ME FOR PASSWORD

address:
ftp.ken-gilbert.com

web access:
http://ken-gilbert.com/ftpupload/
(edit: can't use the www prefix)

i've got a decent amount of space and plenty of bandwidth so this seems the best way to share stuff like this.

i tried to make a note of the mirror location in that testing forum thread but i don't have the privs to, so i had to put it here.
