Hi guys! I have a 2011 impreza 2.5i with a pretty funny problem. ECU codes p0500 vehicule speed sensor, and puts the vehicule in safe mode with a 4000rpm rev limiter. I use the car for ice racing so its a big bummer. i tried diagnosing the problem : no abs wheel speed sensor codes, all wheel speed sensor data are correct in abs. can bus has 60ohm circuit resistance, no resistance from abs module to ecu, same for the can for bcm/combination meter and also lin bus wires. When i check the live data, vehicule speed in ecu displays 255kmh, when reading is fine in abs module for all wheel sensors. on top of it, problem is intermittent. Sometime everything will work fine, ecu speed follows abs speed, then speed in combination meter will go to 0 or 240kmh (one or the other), speed in ecu will read 255kmh and car will fall in safe mode. I tried a used abs module and had the same problem. So one of my options would be to disable P0500 in the ecu. But i have calibration ID EE5I910G, wich is not defined yet. Thats why i would be very thankful if someone could edit the definition for this cal. I would try with my basic computer skills but i cant afford the ida pro license. im willing to pay to have this done. Thanks for taking the time of reading this! If you have any suggestion im all ears! Last option would be to swap ecu and have immo coded i think. Im wondering, wich computer makes the calculation for vehiculke speed? ECU or combination meter? Apparently not the abs because the other one i swapped did the exact same thing. Or its the ecu not receiving the data properly.

Automatic or manual transmission? The AT has a sensor in the tranny.

P0500 disabled won't cure 4000rpm fuel cut problem.
Incorrect vehicle speed data may ( or may not ) also disable AVCS operation.

I just realised i wrote the wrong cal id, its EE5IA10G.
Its a manual transmission

I was not aware it would interfere with AVCS. I thought a limp mode would be related to an error code, and without an error code maybe avcs wouldnt perform like it should but at least limp mode wouldnt come on. I may be wrong. Then i guess i will have no choice but to go with another ecu.

Just a follow up. Thanks td-d to create the definition for the EE5IA10G. I could disable the code P0500 and no more limp mode! Still ABS and related lights but no more check engine and limp mode
