 Post subject: AEM wideband not logging

soo im trying to log my wideband in RR Logger but no luck. i have the FTDI-FT232RL DB9 connector. Blue is wired to pin 2 and black to pin 5. i have voltage at pin 2. i even set it up on the right port in RR logger and everything but nothing. really pulling my hair on this one. please help :evil:

Which AEM do you have. There are different plugins for different models that use differing speeds.
You can test the COM connection with PuTTY.

i log via an AEM Gauge and use RR to log this, i am however using the serial port output and then converting to USB, it works perfectly though

Yup thats pretty much the setup i got but when i assign the comport in logger the readings stay at zero while the cars at idle and everything else is logging

Thanks very much for this. I downloaded it but im still not sure how i check if its actually working with this program after some youtube videos.

How should i go about this

Open PuTTY, select Serial and enter your COM port. 9600 baud is the default.
When you click open you should see the AEM data in the window.
This is confirmation that you have a valid connection with data from the AEM.
If you don't get data then it is just telling you the same thing RR did, something is not right with your connection from the WBO2 controller to the computer serial port.

I get exactly this issue on first startup of the Logger, everything logs and displays but the AEM ARF displays zero until I toggle the comport section then restart the logger.

If you can share the rr_system.log we can check if the COM port is blocked/inaccessible for some reason.

Im not sure if this would interest you but I sent the output from the aem gauge to the sensor signals for my rear lambda sensors and modified my definition file to be able to interpret the voltage.

yo schultz thanks for the help again. i just hopped on the laptop and in went into my to see if i can find rr_system in my (C:)Drive but i dont see it any where in the folder.

could be the damn reason why i couldnt log this whole time?

finally got sometime today! turns out i was looking the wrong folder this time...

and now i dont know why but im trying to upload the file on here but it says "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 2 MiB."
