So Cobb just released this. All emissions related settings are now gone from Accesstuner. https://www.cobbtuning.com/green-speed- ... pril-2022/Things should get interesting. I think we may start seeing more activity in the opensource community. Hopefully some VA or live tuning support

By now yall have heard that tuning via Accesport just got very limited, like 2002 limited. Flex Fuel is no longer a thing, current tunes can no longer be modified. Cobb protuners are likely ready to rip their phone cord out of the wall. Unfortunetly i know nothing about hex code so im no help. But maybe its time we start help support the people that do, get some of them back and continue our passions. It it could be tuned with an accesport, it can be tuned opensource.

I certainly hope so! Was a lurker here ages ago when I still had my '02 but haven't been back since I got the FA20.
Not a SW programmer but I do understand basic symbolic logic & syntax. Hoping it won't be impossible for me to pick some of this stuff up and help out with developing solutions to all of this. Problem is I just have no idea where to start or where to find that information yet.
Will be doing some research on this in the coming weeks, but if any oldtimers have any suggestions or primers on where to go/what to look for and learn, I'll gladly take any advice.

It was only a matter of time! No surprise at all. Luckily most people that have been here for years have a head start!

Now that Cobb has declared war on anyone who paid the $150 to use AccessTuner Race, I can't resist finally registering here and asking the question...
...how do I port my tune? Asking for a friend.

I've been checking this site like every hour for the last day lol. I'll gladly come back to open source and donate to the cause if it means tuning for my car can continue. Just ordered a tactrix again! Idiot me sold when I got Cobb.

...how do I port my tune? Asking for a friend. This may come off wrong, but you and everyone else who just jumped on this bandwagon need to start by reading instead of posting blindly. There is a plethora of information on this forum, and posting immediately instead of reading is not the correct way to do this.

I agree with this, there might need to be some restrictions placed on new members or something since there will be an influx of them.

Quote: There is a plethora of information on this forum, and posting immediately instead of reading is not the correct way to do this. All the information in the world is worse than useless without a map - especially in a deeply technical topic where the barrier to entry starts at a level most people have never interacted with even once in their lives. It doesn't help that so much legacy information is buried in dead threads and vague How-To's from a decade or more ago filled with statements like "We're not going to get into this topic, but maybe later we'll explain this". So, how about instead of complaining about new people not knowing where to go, we get to work on organizing guides, assigning work, finding gaps, and making this all actually happen? Rant over.

Yup. That was my bible back in 2013/2014.
However, we'll need something more aligned to creation of new definitions (how to pull ROM's, parse the data, etc). That's not nearly as simple and the information is just kind of helter-skelter everywhere.
