Can we PLEASE remove the need for new members to create a new post before being able to download files or whatever the restriction is?

The BMW forums, don't know about the others, are getting flooded with "hello" and "new member" posts and the quality of the forum data is severely degrading.

There has to be better way.

Thanks

It's a means of controlling spam accounts. We can approve and delete the intro post if that helps or make a new forum and capture them there if there's nothing more than a request to access the definitions.

I think restricting to another section of the forum would make it a bit better.

Can we revisit this? I've actually stopped frequenting this site (MS41 forum in particular) because its basically just full of people creating threads to get the definition files and then disappear.
