Switching between maps within one firmare seems to be smarter approach. Without any hardware rework

Hi

I am thinking that it is needed if you want to have a switchable setting so that you can have a stock car setting, and a race car setting. Were the stock car setting will pass goverment inspections etc (also in a flying inspection out on the road).

You could have two different ECU´s and switch between stock and race (when on track only) but that is more time consuming.

And in this case I am thinking that if you put in way to many maps in just one ordinary firmware file, that it would exceed the 512k (as an example for a MS43 chip/eeprom) after a while.

But I am really qurious, is it possible to put in a twice the capacity chip/eeprom and then just use one ordinary firmware file and fill it up with "special maps etc"?

If so, how do you do to switch between different maps?
Is it possible to do that somehow digital (with digital I mean that it wouldnt be necessary to for example ground a pin/leg on the chip/eeprom to change from a map to another).

It would be awesome if I could have one ordinary "bigger" firmware file (with 1024k instead of 512k) and not have to solder a cable/wire to any pin/leg of the chip/eeprom

You can solder another flash solder on top, but you need to know how to connect them so that you can switch them between each other. This is a better option than installing one flash with two firmwares in one flash, it is better because it can be programmed without soldering and without using a programmer.

Do you know how to do this?
Or can you direct me to some how to site?

Anybody aware of a solution just using one chip and put in just one extra line with tuner pro.
The line would be an extra speed limit setting (to be able to switch between two speed limits).
And if that would be possible, how do you switch between the two speed limits?

In MS43 you have speed limit for both manual an automatic vehicles.
I am thinking that if the manual "line" could be deleted, then there maybe would be space/capacity left to put in a "second speed limiter line" for automatic speed limit.
But even if that would work with spare capacity, how would you be able to switch between the two speed limits???

Please let me know how to be able to switch between maps within on firmware.
I only need to be able to switch one single "line" in the whole map, which would be between two different speed limits.
And as I wrote just recently in another post in this thread. If possible to make som spare room in the eeprom, perhaps deleting the manual speed limit line could help to make room for two automatic speed limters :?:

It would be awesome if that could be done..... :D
