Can anyone tell me the profit one can get switching between two firmare files?
Switching between maps within one firmare seems to be smarter approach. Without any hardware rework
Hi
I am thinking that it is needed if you want to have a switchable setting so that you can have a stock car setting, and a race car setting. Were the stock car setting will pass goverment inspections etc (also in a flying inspection out on the road).
You could have two different ECU´s and switch between stock and race (when on track only) but that is more time consuming.
And in this case I am thinking that if you put in way to many maps in just one ordinary firmware file, that it would exceed the 512k (as an example for a MS43 chip/eeprom) after a while.
But I am really qurious, is it possible to put in a twice the capacity chip/eeprom and then just use one ordinary firmware file and fill it up with "special maps etc"?
If so, how do you do to switch between different maps?
Is it possible to do that somehow digital (with digital I mean that it wouldnt be necessary to for example ground a pin/leg on the chip/eeprom to change from a map to another).
It would be awesome if I could have one ordinary "bigger" firmware file (with 1024k instead of 512k) and not have to solder a cable/wire to any pin/leg of the chip/eeprom
