Hi Everyone,
My name is Jason, I am one of MRF582's IRL friends,
Earlier this year MRF582 (Shek Shinde) tragically passed away.
I was given by his family a box of Bmw ecus and the hopes of finding a way to continue his legacy.
I do not have his original computer but might be able to gain access if someone can continue his work.

I know many people on this form contributed including

d_munter
xbyte
dschultz
pheno
busterhax
Enabled
renneimer
Tom Kelly
Dave
EVILM3666
Todd Williams
Robert
ba114
pazi88

I am hoping some individuals can contact me and let me know what I can do to help further the development of this project.
Thank you
Jason

I just sent him an email about MS41.3 and got an answer telling me that he passed away... So sad to read that, he has contributed a lot to this community and made a lot of things possible. I hope someone can preserve his work, and continue his legacy. I just have no other words to say, I hope he's having fun, happy and doing what he likes in the other side.

I have recently obtained some of laptops he used for development. My intention is to find the source code and publish it so it can be open source.
I would really like to see this project continue because it was something he was very passionate about.

I can second that. I am glad I was able to contribute to his hard work by getting MS41.3 from him. The car runs great with his code, I can contribute with feedback, testing of the code and features to continue his legacy.

Oh man, I've been going crazy lately because I was trying to find the email to send this license request to and I could of sworn I've seen it before.

This is terrible news and I really feel for his family and friends. Huge loss to our community so I can't imagine the loss for those who were close.

Passing this project along to open source would be a great way to keep the legacy alive and perhaps the future license fees can go to his family.

Right now you can get 413 from here:

https://ms413.bimmertuningtools.com/

This is just a temporary solution as we work to integrate it into the wiki.

Thank you very much for doing this. I don't know if they need it or not, but do you know if the family needs any support? I mean, if we can give any donations to them, so this can still provide something for them or aid with the expenses that they need to face after this.

My condolances Jason, I found out over facebook a while ago and even though my interactions with Shek where little and over social media/mail, all of them where very positive.
Thanks for reaching out to us on this forum, means a lot.
