After about a 6 month hiatus I'm back onto tuning the FXT. New laptop so I reinstalled RR and everything. Got it up and running, but I'm getting no log file output. I'm definitely in the right directory. When I hit the log button the border turns green and when i hit it again it goes away, but there's no log file saved in the /logs directory. Any ideas?
edit: as a side question, I ran into an issue where I was getting an initialization error if I go over a certain number of sensors selected to monitor. Is that a software or hardware limitation? I'm on an older laptop, but I'd imagine a second gen i5 with 4gb ram should be plenty for just RR.
edit: seems to work fine with defogger control selected. Not sure why it won't regularly when deselected.

What RR version? You did set a log output directory under the settings menu, right?
There is a practical limit on the number of items selected. One has to do with the message length and the other with the logging speed the ECU can support.
Is this CAN or K-line?

I had issues like this but put it down to being a noob. So it will act like its connected and recording, it will create a file but it is empty. Firstly i had it set to not update the screen displays while logging.. Disable that then youll see if it is or isnt working, sometimes some parameters log others dont and this results in empty log file.
Then i deleted my settings xml. do the whole "first connection" and being connected to the car.
eventually i started to get them again from one profile and any new profiles made from it. I stopped the connection to rcu, make sure auto connect is off. deselect ECU and dont connect to anything. If you have a THIRD party plugin wideband now load plugin, then select it from plugin tab make sure it connects thrn disconect save profil exit out
Reopen and when you load that profile it shouldnt do anything remove third party plugin and reload it fresh then click ecu and when your ready, plugged into the car ignition on or started hit connect .
