Hello, I am trying to read the Rom from my 2006 Outback 2.5i with a Tactrix cable, but I think I am running into problems loading the right definitions. I am not sure what exactly the issue is, but hopefully you can help me out. The log below shows the output from EcuFlash. I am able to connect to the ECU after putting the car into test mode by connecting the green cables in the passenger footwell.

The log file lists this ECU ID:

It is interestingly different from ECU ID I have found on the web. I expected the file E2VG222B.xml to contain the definitions for a 2006 Outback 2.5i. The ECU ID listed in there is 4512187106.

Could the ECU ID be the reason why I can't find the right definitions to interpret the ECU dump in EcuFlash?

The car is bone stock and has never been tampered with.

Where could I find working definitions, or do the log files below point to another issue? What else could I try to properly read the data?

It would appear you have CAL ID: E2VL001A which is a PZEV AT, correct?
This CAL ID is not yet defined.

Thank you, you are correct:

This is the string I can see in the srf file from reading the Rom: E2VL001A 23VH4N PZEV AT

If I wanted to try to adjust some existing definitions, which one do you think would be the best to start with? I have no experience with it, but would be willing to start looking into it.

Given that the car is already 17 years old, I highly doubt that there are still many people around who would be interested in definitions for a 2006 Outback 2.5i. I could post the Rom here if it was of any help!

Typically Legacy and Outback rans the same ROMs with the only changes to the ID strings. Look for another PZEV definition of the same era. Or wait until someone defines this ROM.
