Hello
I also have M52B28 (528i) with only M50 Manifold Mod and wanna tune my Setup, but ecounter Knock an Stock fuel map.
Vanos setpoint is already tuned and Ignition is Stock.
i tried adding fuel according to STFT but still have Knock on Stock timing.
tried adjusting Fuel and got suspicious of faulty Lambdaprobes - Got frustrated and just flashed a Fuel Map with +50% on stock Table just so the Engine would stock Knocking.
Didn't Stop Knocking.
Saw your Thread and i checked for anything touching the Engine or Exhaust or anything that could fake Knock - found nothing.
inspected the my last longer Log with 150% Fuelmap and it doesn't seem to me like it's a fake Knock but admitted i don't know what would indicate that.
The Question is:
Can you tell by the Log if its false Knocking?
And if so, what does it look like? How can i tell?
i added my Log to this post if someone wants to take a look at it
Nevermind, found my first Full and Partial Read i ever did on this DME and flashed it on it as is.
I had a different one flashed and referred to it as Stock because i did a Engine swap and instead of Changing the DME physically i just did full and partial reads and flashed them onto my DME as the Swap finished
Knocks went away almost completely with real Stock Maps, couldn't find any differences between the two thou, so maybe its because of ID Numbers differences or something like that???
i guess the leftover fake Knocks come from either the M50 manifold and too lean fuel condition due to the DME not having adapted to it yet, or that my Flywheel is going bad.
Bad 2-Mass-Flywheel
can but don't have to be diagnosed via RPM depending sound from Clutch area that stops as soon as you press the Clutch Pedal. My Throw out Bearing was changed while doing the Swap (November 2023)
These are just assumptions and may be wrong, please correct me if so, we all are here to learn

Maybe this can help someone with similar Problems BUT definitely shows us to keep untouched Backups of the first Reads we ever did on our Machines.
