RomRaider

Hello all,
I am new to the open source tuning world, so all help is definitely appreciated. I am having trouble getting the logger to open. When I enter thru ECU editor and click the drop down for the logger, nothing happens. When I click the desktop short cut that was added during the install I just get "initializing logger" and it never goes away until I restart the laptop.
Laptop is a newish dell running windows 11 - 32bit, followed my tuners instructions for install (shinji tuned) (followed tuned by jinjer romraider and ecu flash install video on youtube.)
Just need the logger to open up and run. Any help is appreciated.

What version of Java did you install?

I tried all 3 listed for windows. Computer is a 64 bit, i followed a youtube video on how to enable 32 bit programs to work on this OS, java version 8 update 411 (build 1.8.0_411-b09)
Following the link you provided, I'm not seeing where the debug log is? My "help" menu only says "about romraider".
EDIT: I cannot get the logger to open at all, only the ecu editor. I have all the desktop icons. Editor opens right up. Logger icon nor the drop down menu in editor will open. 10x10 will donate to the group. Lots of work done to this car of mine, need the tune to get her going.

No youtube videos need to be watched to install RomRaider.
Simply install Java 8 32-bit JRE and run the RomRaider installer.
Start the Editor configure your ECU definition files, start the Logger and select the appropriate definition file, then select a logging protocol to use.
That's the high level summary of an installation.

The rr_system.log is in C:\Users\<username>\.RomRaider\

what kind of laptop is it? I had an issue with the intel AMT on my laptop interfering with the serial port - had to disable it to get RR to work correctly
