I’ve finally got round to getting my 3 port Mac valve installed on the wrx. I’ve got the source going to common, wastegate to normally open and pipe to air intake to normally closed. I’ve then placed the restrictor pill in the SOURCE pipe as per the instructions that came with the solenoid. The maps have been adjusted a few times, I’m still not there 100% yet but this weekend I’ll be able to do some more runs with the laptop to dial it in.
HOWEVER….
I read conflicting posts about the hose layout, some saying it should NOT have a restrictor pill whatsoever, others saying keep the one in the wastegate side, and others saying Mac valves need the restrictor in the source (as I have) to help any fluctuating duty cycles and give correct feedback.
I just want to say I started out with the min and max wgdc tables changed from zero across the left side, to 5 (min table) and 15 max table. Then interpolated them across, so the min values maxed at about 30 to the right and 65 in the max table. This was ‘ok’ (no boost cut, fuelling nice no issues) but maxed out at 10Psi. So I played with the left to middle of the two tables, lowering those just a little, which then allowed a spool up to 12psi. It feels very linear and very smooth on delivery, pulls nicely and all my logs show a good safe bunch of numbers.
So my question is two fold. 1. Should I not be using a restrictor pill? 2. What suggestions for next steps in the table to bring the boost up, (td04, Mishi TMIC, mishi intake, 3” cat less turbo back, 350gph fuel pump, mac 3 port valve.) I have already bumped the boost cut up from 15psi to 18psi max, (don’t want any more than about 16psi, tapering to 13 on wot)
Any suggestions gladly received!

OK, ive managed to get the wastegate values ALMOST right, needs a little more fiddling for fine tuning, but as it stands, im happy with 3rd gear pull, maxing at 17psi, dropping to 14/15 psi as the revs rise.
On my log, ive seen on one run (out of 5 that i recorded) the feedback knock correction 4byte showing a value of -1.05 for a matter of less than a second, at 90% throttle.
Stupidly, ive not had the Advance multiplier logged, so i will do that next time. However, looking at the map, my advance multiplier initial is set at 0.5000 is this correct???
i thought i needed to have a stable DAM of 1.0

Most ROM's are set to a start DAM of .500 just to ensure everything is on the up and up before it gives you all the timing. It's a good idea to let the car bump that up to 1.0 while you cruise around town, then get some WOT logs

Thanks,
It’s all new with the open tunings just trying to understand the way things are set up.
So I just drive it gently for a while, and monitor the DAM on logger, and get it to 1.0?
