Hey everyone. I need some help getting RR logger to connect. RR is installed on Win 10 with the recent definitions. I'm using a generic obd2 to usb cable with FT232RL chip. Drivers installed from FTDI website. I got the protocol set to SSM Kline.

The log file shows a constant loop below
Code:
ECU Init Request  ---> 8010F001BF40
TRACE [Query Manager] - Reading stale data
DEBUG [Query Manager] - Stale data read: FAFAFAFAFAFAFAFAFEFEFFFE
TRACE [Query Manager] - Writing bytes
DEBUG [Query Manager] - ECU Init Response "this displays alot of text"
ERROR [Query Manager] -Error sending init: Invalid response data length. Expected: D3. Actual: 69.

What's interesting is that when I turn the key from On to ACC, it connects and starts to log whatever I had selected. It mostly logged voltage line items like battery voltage or throttle position. Also this is the only time it displays the CAL ID 8A12584007 and ECU ID AE5L500L on the bottom right corner.

When I turn the key back to ON, it will try connecting with no success with log as shown above again. If I try turning key to ACC first, it won't connect. Only from On to ACC.

Is this a cable communication problem, or software settings?

Here is the log file. 20:38 is when I started testing the connection. I had the ignition ON, ACC and then tried ON again.

what happens if you hit the unselect all button for logging things and try only logging 1 value?

It did the same thing when logging 1 item.

I didn't like the options on Amazon, so I ended up ordering a different cable from Aliexpress. It took awhile to get here, but the now the logging works perfectly.
