yes you can, but best to copy some settings over from your original rom to make it drive better for your setup.

that's means before I flash Carberry Rom, I should copy my stock rom's map which compared different with Speed Density Base.hex's map to the Carberry Rom.

you can copy some stuff, but not all of it - look at the tables and the axis on the tables as they don't all line up. It may be worth doing a little more reading on here to make sure your fully prepared to tune it (or start your own thread asking for more help)

I seem to be missing some sort of step here trying to get the map to work correctly. So I downloaded the zip folder. Patched the base, added the given defs into RR editor, open the map and no ve map or other carberry features. Am I missing a step?

sounds like you're not putting your defs in the right place if the map isn't showing any of the carberry stuff. if you download a tuned/semi tuned map from here that someone has posted up does it show up with all the carberry stuff in it or is it missing bits as well? This would confirm its your definition setup that isn't right just rather than how your patching the rom.

I figured it out. Romraider and ecuflash are able to open the map without any issues on my laptop, however i'm helping someone remotely and installed romraider and ecuflash on their computer through anydesk. The map will open up in romraider on their end just fine, however I cannot get it to open with ecuflash. I went as far as replacing their rommetadata folder with the one on my computer and it will still not open up(acts like definition is missing). Any thoughts?

check where their ECUflash is looking for rommetadata and check where YOUR ecuflash is looking for rommetadata. Make sure that's the folder you uploaded and uploaded to the right place and be sure to remove / archive his original metadata folder not just drop yours on top as ECUFlash is funny that way.

I cannot believe I overlooked this man. Was so focused on it not working that I didn't even think to check. So thank you! Car is up and running!

I have a quick question regarding TD Activation Threshold (RPM). I have seem maps where it is set under 900rpm. On mine and some others I have seen it set much higher at 2650. Is there a reason for this? Is it related to launch control or something else that I'm not thinking about?

Tried to search but i never got a clear answer:

Which ecu can be run that allows for avcs but still has the 3 main channels for logging/flex (tgv 2x and rear o2)???

JDM dont have tgv but does the ecu have those spots available for a 5v source? if not is there an adm/edm ecu that does? I want to be able to log my wideband and also use flex fuel.

does the usdm 02 wrx not have this capability?
I've ran Carberry for so many years and I've used the channels you're asking about just not at the same time. oh wait, nvm I see AVCS. no wrx ecu is going to run that all at the same time on separate channels. You need an STI ecu which won't work obviously. I don't have any exp with au ecu but EU I don't believe can do this either. You're asking a lot from a 20 year old ecu.
Why aren't you just going standalone at this point? They're not automatically$2000 anymore just for an entry level stand alone or maybe even a piggyback can be a solution for you I'm not sure I just know that people tend to forget that these are OEM ECU's that are already performing at the level of most standalones as far as functionality especially 16 bit, The USDM one, there's front O2, rear O2, tgv, But definitely no AVCS what engine or hybrid are you running? Are you just running a jdm wrx? I would bet that the JDMECU has the available pins for TGV input They're just likely unpopulated. I can't see Subaru Cutting out whatever is inside that ECU and doing it to hundreds of thousands of cars just because they don't have TGVs. More expensive, more work it's easier to just leave them there and have nothing running on them.
