Noob here, sorry in advance..

Just built the bottom end with forged internals, looking to up the power later, but I'm wanting to start at the stock + bolt on level and move from there. Engine is broke in already and want to feel some power/boost..

Here's what I've got:

01 2.5 RS Swapped with this 03 JDM STI EJ207 V8, 6 speed Sti trans, R180 rear diff. Drive by Cable and iWire merged..
It has the JDM ECU internal ID A4TE002B with the outside labeled 22611ah581 112200-5122 denso
Block: 8.5:1 pistons, king bearings and ARP head studs
Heads: stock
The only exterior engine parts changed are a Cobb intake with Tomei pipe and Downpipe with 3" turbo back
Stock injectors and all else is stock..
Please recommend what plugs to run

I'm wanting to run 91 octane to keep it simple until I swap out later for more power. Can anyone help me with a tune for this set up? Thanks in advance!!!

some simple go-to options for a random build would be:

start with the stock file
add 5% to the maf scale
pull 5 degrees from the base timing
set min/max wastegate to 0%
set target boost to 0.5 bar

if you're planning track days I'd go with a colder plug, but if its a daily then standard heat range 6 plugs will do the job nicely.

Do you have a wideband to make any logs with?

Yes, I have a wide and but it’s not connected to the ecu. I can monitor with it but that’s about it. This all sounds foreign to me but I understand. Is this a safe approach from here? Or is it better to download a map someone has got for my set up? I’m happy to do the work, I just want to be safe and keep this thing running well. I’m anxious to drive it with power now to really feel its power.. just want to make sure if I go tune things im not gonna blow it up. Do you know which NGK part number I can reference or should I do a search? Thanks for your help!

wideband doesn't need to be connected to the ECU, only to the laptop so you can log it with romraider for tuning.

Personally i'd take a map you've built yourself and know what you've changed over someone elses map for their car - it would be rare to find 2 cars that will run exactly as expected on the same map - even if the cars are 100% matching mods you'll find each engine a little unique.

The NGK plugs for a 2.0 I'd normally go with PFR6B for every day use or PFR7B if its going to get its butt kicked all day every day - just always make sure to check the gaps as sometimes they can come out of the box with a massive gap or nonexistent gap. They may have been set at the factory but then they spent some time on a plan/van/box getting punted about the place so no harm in confirming they are still right.
