Hi,
I'm looking for instructions on how to disable the EGR in my EE20Z engine ECU.
If anyone has done this before, how did you proceed?

Hi totobonde,

As I have never looked at the tuning file of the boxer diesel, I can only give you general guidelines.
You will need to read the ROM file from the ECU memory, the common way to do this for subarus is to use the Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 OBD to USB interface and EcuFlash software. Then you will have to open it either with the same EcuFlash or RomRaider software, find the EGR tables in that tuning file and zero out all the values. Save the ROM file, write it back into the ECU memory and you should be good to go.
I am not sure if there is ECU definition support for the diesel engine, you need to look up the EcuFlash database to verify that your vehicle model is supported. Please proceed with great care as mistakes during this process can do irreversible damage to your ECU.

As far as I remember, you should zeroize following tables: Switch-off hysteresis of EGR control and Target angle of EGR-valve. And then you should disable all EGR related DTCs.
