Hey all, I am a longtime fabricator and just completed a 2011 WRX EJ25 swap into a Porsche 914. I am a newb to open source tuning but I want to learn and have been going through a lot of the materials on this forum to educate myself. I would like to see if anyone has a solid base tune to get me up and running so I can get to a point where I can do a few runs and send data back and forth before fine tuning at the shop if needed. I have the following modifications:

- 2011 WRX OEM engine NEW NEW with VF52
- 1050 CC injects
- CNC TGV Deletes
- Intake
- Catless downpipe 3" back
- EBS from GrimSpeed
- TMIC aftermarket
- front OEM, O2 sensor relocated in downpipe
- rear O2 needs deleted

Hopefully the image attachment works so you all can see the progress.

your stock file will work as a base map, read it from the car and post it up.

You'll need a wideband o2 sensor fitted to make some decent logs - because of the intake and injectors your going to have to put the work in to make a decent tune specific to your setup.

Bludgod,

Is there a plug and play wide band?
A specific you suggest?
Why will the oem not work for the range it grants which is much wider than a narrow?

the location of it pre-turbo isn't ideal for reading things on boost, once you get a wideband and compare the readings you might find that on boost your front o2 is saying 11 but its actually 12 or 10 AFR for example.

I like the zeitronix widebands, always been easy to setup and use and lots of dealers around to supply them.

Will this O2 stay in harness as plug and play or be only used as stand alone for tuning?

its entirely up to you - you can wire it into the harness and leave it there all the time if you like or just use it for tuning and take it out when your done. the OEM ecu won't be able to use the reading from it for anything so just depends if you want to have the gauge on your dash or not once the tuning is done.

First thank you for all of the help. I am using some of the knowledge you are sharing to help guide me to the right question on the internet to ask.

So there is no wideband direct replacement I can leave in the oem O2 plug?

not sure what you're trying to achieve. Are you wanting to hook up a proper wideband to the factory ECU then no that's not going work well.

You can feed the widebands 0-1v narrowband signal into the ECU in place of the rear o2, the cars front o2 is already a semi-wideband but the ecu will only work with that specific sensor, it's not expecting a 0-5v wideband signal it's reading in mA from the factory sensor.

If you want to have a wideband value logged then you fit a wideband to the exhaust with controller and then take the serial data output from the controller and feed that into the laptop and romraider will log that data along with the rest of your selected values.

Understood. How would I go about requesting a mapped with my logged values? Are there any good recommended individuals to get me a suitable base tune?

You'll find me and lots of other tuners listed in the "tuner directory" on the left hand side menu :)
