java.lang.sx

This occurs during the IzPack installation.

Any idea how to fix this?

[root@localhost Desktop]# java -version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-51)

Use Suns JRE, not GNUs

It depends on your distribution.

Gentoo:

Ubuntu:
http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:Feisty#How_to_install_J2SE_Runtime_Environment_.28JRE.29_v6.0_with_Plug-in_for_Mozilla_Firefox

Fedora:

Elsewhere, just google.

Try uninstalling your current java, then installing Sun JRE 6: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
