i think everyone else thinks it's a throttle issue (because there are so many of those issues!)

I'll post up a log and see what you think.

Have you had a chance to look at my other startup log?

yeah, you are still getting misfires even when it goes into closed loop.

that's because the cylinder loaded up with fuel so bad. The AFRS are low 9's and even high 8's sometimes. It clears up completely after a little while closed loop (as you can see in the logs).

But it takes a while for the cylinder to come back after fouling the plug out so bad.

Wouldn't you agree that there has to be something in the post start?

So every 07 STi you've tuned has the exact same problem? Or is it isolated to this particular car? I'm sure we would have heard something from other tuners if this was a widespread problem. So, if that is the case, you have to rule out a mechanical issue OR an issue with the tune OR some previously unknown logic with the 07 STi brought to the surface by your particular tune (maybe related to the target throttle plate position tables that most don't tune?).

First, install the latest logger definitions. Don't log 'engine load (calculated)' as that is not going to tell us if the ecu is determining load from a table rather than MAF after initial start. Also, log injector pulse width instead of duty. I would log only: rpm, ect, ipw, engine load*, cl\ol fuel status*, air/fuel sensor #1 AFR, air flow.

The current 'warm-up enrichment' debug table is not correct as post-start enrichment, so you don't want to modify that table.

I am not seeing this O/L to C/L switching issue. It behaves just like my 06 WRX did now with the delay 0'd.

The cold start injector is something that is known. Just make sure the car is warmed up. After I flash, I start the car. I let it warm up. Then I restart the car. Cold start issue is gone and I go hammer on it.

Also, post reset, the ECU will add in advance A or B (haven't figured it out yet), at some point right after IAM = 1. Must be a check to see if the ECU should lower IAM. I keep the values in Advance A&B very low, so it only adds in 4* down low and 1* in the upper RPMS.

The problem isn't cold start. The problem is Hot start.
What size injectors do you have?

every tune I've done with stock injectors runs great. It's the large injectors that give issue on HOT start.

I have an 07...

800cc PE, TGV Deletes, APS-Inlet and fuel rails, SZ49, TBE, Walbro 255

I have no idle/start issues... now I probably went and jinxxed myself...damnit.. ;)

I removed the air pump... which screws up your atmospheric pressure readings...said 21psi.... not possible. New ROM and she is all fixed... just an FYI(Thx Merch)

I pulled my pump too... damn I never thought of that.

I'm having a similar issue with an MY05 Forester XT running AVO400L turbo and Sard 650 injectors. Has issues starting and idling after driving around all day. Did you have any luck sorting it?

no I haven't.
Wish I did.
It gets old really quick.
IF I change the injector and MAF scaling it still does it. :(

Maybe I just have a wierd ecu

I think the issue has to do with the removal of the air pump. Both instances that you mentioned (yours and the other tuner) both have removed the air pump. The issue occurs at the same time when I assume the air pump would be operating (before the front o2 is ready) -> the 'cold start injector' parameter is actually an air pump value in late model Subarus (none of the cars we tune have a cold start injector). Even though you may have removed any air pump related CELs, that does not remove any fault logic that may exist that could cause unexpected behavior (only occuring on a hot restart for example). Note, this is besides the atmospheric pressure issue which you said didn't make a difference. I would try installing the air pump, also enabling all air pump related CELs (to make sure its working properly) and see what happens.
