Yeah, I always go back and disassemble my patched ROMs, but since the call still went to valid code (just missing the first two instructions) I didn't catch it. It was just a matter of time until I slipped up.

Hmm Merch, I wonder who that was?? Lol. Hey Freon, I have actually got a few ways to recover the ECU. Ive had to do it more than a few times now. IMO, the easiest way to do it after talking with Cobly and a few other 'people' is to modify the tactrix cable to flash. Plug and play in the car. The other way to do it is to make a bench flasher but like the Active Matrix guys have done with the EVO ecu's. I am working on that. Ive got a spare ecu, and am ordering up a FTDI USB interface. Like you and every other developer have stated, its all in the time factor... I talked to Cobly about building some of the cables to sell but he thinks there is not enough interest. Looking at your pics, I would think you should be able to do it successfully. I haven't had any troubles using v1.22 . Colby also hinted to the fact that the latest versions still are capable of doing the flashing but just doesn't display the advanced flashing tools upon startup.

so what exactly are the benefits of running SD instead of MAF? is it just cause MAF is unreliable at high loads?

not so much unreliable, but increasingly difficult to keep linear over a 100:1 dynamic range.

I'm going to have more time in the next few weeks to work on it.
I'm extremely happy with how the car is running. I've been running the code for several months now, done autocross and drag racing on it a few times with conservative tunes. I'm comfortable enough now that it isn't buggy and won't cause problems when the tune is pushed back up.

I'm working on getting a few more things collected, like writing an FAQ, common issues, and troubleshooting guide. I'm probably going to shoot for just 2004 STI or maybe also 2005 STI first.

I'll do some work on an 07 STI if you wanna shoot for that beast as well.

Freon,
I have an 04 STi with Green and 850cc injectors if you need another test point.

I only intend to ever develop for the 7055/7058. I'd rather concentrate on that and develop it further than split my efforts.
It's finally starting to cool down in Indiana and I'm watching the effects of low IAT.
I've got a pretty good FAQ started. A couple of pages worth.
I may finally load the code on another rom. I have a local with a 2005 STI that I'm working with in general on his car and may use it as a second test car.
Once it is ready I'm just going to flat out release it. I am not going to have outside testers.
