Actually, looking at your FXT ROM in IDA, it appears that the SSM read range in more narrow than the other ECUs. That is, it will not allow us to read the data in the flash area (a/f learning airflow ranges, flkc rpm and load ranges) unlike others ECUs (RAM is not a problem which is why there's no issue with the other stuff). This might be an issue with the 04 32-bit ECUs (SH7055).

There's no way I can fix this other than adding the ability for the user to open their ROM file from learning view and applying the ranges based on that file.

Hey, thanks for the response. Do you know if the ranges are the same? If so, that is easy enough for me to figure out.

They can vary by ECU. You use RomRaider/Ecuflash to change those ranges (meaning you can also view them). Open up your ROM in RR and look at:
1. Fine Correction Columns (Load)
2. Fine Correction Rows (RPM)
3. A/F Airflow Ranges

What does mostly -ve numbers mean in the A/F learning #1

A/F Learning #1:
0 - <5.60 5.60 - <10.00 10.00 - <50.00 50.00+
-5.86 -7.81 -7.62 -0.78

I got a -1.05 on load 1.5 -4.0 @5000-12800 rpm thats a wide range
how can i find the culprit ?

thank you in advance

-5.86        -7.81            -7.62             -0.78

Those numbers mean the ECU has learned to remove a small amount of fuel to reach stoich.

I wouldn't worry about such a small negative number, but if you want to, then you'd need to log a lot of data and use micky2005's knock spreadsheet to figure out exactly where it happened.

I think you mis-understand what the FLKC table represents. When the table showed a -1.05 in that range, it meant that the ECU was REDUCING timing by 1.05 degrees in that range due to knock. If you wanted to "fix" the problem, you'd need to reduce the timing, not add to it. However, I wouldn't sweat 1*.

how do you figure it DOESN'T reset??

The IAM stays where it is, the FLKC table isn't cleared, and the AF Learning table isn't cleared.

wow. never would have expected that (no ecu reset after reflash). learn something every day.

Definitely doesnt reset the ECU on reflash on mine. A8DH200Z

Yeah, some ecu's don't reset.

I know the USDM 07 STi resets everytime.

Ok I dont know how to paste the table here but mine is ALL ZERO, there is no negative numbers in any of the ranges and the IAM is 1.

My question is, when I log my car I get some -1.40 and maybe twice in in 2 months after the tune I get a -2.80 in 4th gear sometimes and sometimes no FKC at all, how come the knock is not learned in FLKC?????

The FLKC table is cleared every time the IAM changes. It is also cleared when ever the ECU is reset (which occurs for most ECUs when you flash).

You need to read the "subaru knock control explained" sticky. FLKC is not based off of FBKC. FBKC could be -10 and it will have no effect on FLKC. This is one of the questions in the FAQ in the sticky.

06 STi doesnt reset ever reset on a reflash. Found that out the hard way. I was pulling timing and adding fuel for hours on a road tune and it kept pulling timing. Reset the ECU and it magically went away. huh.

just tried this.. i didnt see anyone else with numbers as high (or low) as -15 in the a/f learning area.. is this bad? or does that mean its just removing more fuel to reach stoich. tuned by clark turner.

Those are BIG corrections. You're removing a lot of fuel to reach stoich. You probably should correct that.
